It’s a Christmas miracle, Tiny Tim!
It’s not a rumor anymore: Ugly Betty is moving to Wednesday at 10! It has been reported by The Live Feed, and Ausiello also gives it a mention. This is happening.
To top it off: producer Jim Klever Weiss posted on Twitter that the move will happen January 6.
Even though there hasn’t been an official announcement from ABC, the sources reporting this are reliable enough that I have all confidence in them.
Betty fans, let’s pause for a moment to do a happy dance.
This is huge news for fans of the show, who were afraid that with the dismal Friday ratings, the show would be yanked altogether at midseason.
And yes, to the cranky stats geeks, I’ll admit that there is little doubt that Betty probably still won’t get renewed for a 5th season.
But, there’s at least hope now. The show has received critical acclaim this year, and sometimes (30 Rock) that can translate to viewers.
Networks giving repreives to shows that have been sent to Friday are extremely rare. It is remarkable that this has happened to Ugly Betty TWICE. (It happened in season 1 before the debut after great critical reviews).
ABC will run “Shark Tank” after “SuperNanny” in Betty’s place.

ABC is being extremely (and uncharacteristicly) gracious here. If the show was still cranking out the same low quality (IMO) as last season, they wouldn’t be doing this. Glad to see they still care, and have noted the near-Season 1-level greatness of this season!
BTW, despite the bad writing last season, ABC has been dropping the ball on promoting the show since Season 2. I’m hoping, since they obviously believe in it enough to move it to a new night, they can start promoting the heck out of it, too!

except Jim Weis isnt an exec..hes just a producer, look at the credits on any Ugly Betty episode.
Anyway, YAYYYYYYYY I just hope the ratings get better becuase Im worried:
a) people might not hav caught up
b) ppl might be confused another time slot change
and ABC better promote the sh!t out of this or itll never do well

Andrea, I am 100% certain that ABC WON”T PROMOTE UGLY BETTY PROPERLY FROM NOW ON, IN SPITE OF WHAT EVER WE THINK OR DO.
By the way, guys…we just can’t forget Ugly Betty is still facing cancellation by the end of the the 4th season. We have got to get more signatures for the SAVE BETTY PETITION Tom put for us and start watching the show in a regular basis right now! Forget about January!!! ABC Executives will pay attention to ratings RIGHT NOW. And believe me: if the Bahamas Episode repeats the Lindsay Lohan ratings, WE WILL BE DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week received 4.23 million viewers up a lot from last week’s 3.39 million. Let’s hope it goes up even more next week guys!

Bryce, that`s the thing. Ugly Betty is removed from the graveyard directly to the church where is located the memorial service.
I kinda lost hope that Ugly Betty will even reach the mark of 100 episodes by now.
