Some interesting things have been coming out about upcoming episodes of Ugly Betty. First, let’s look at this from the TV Guide Megabuzz column:
What can you tell me about the Ugly Betty Bahamas episode? — Teri
MICKEY: Love is in the air, of course. Two characters will seek meaningless sex, three former couples will reunite and at least one of the women of Mode will go topless.
Hmmm. As for the two who seek meaningless sex, I’d imagine Daniel will be one of them. He will have supposedly been freed from the clutches of the cult, and I’m guessing he’ll revert to his old way of dealing with stressful or sad situations. As for the other, I have no guess (the possibilities are intriguing), although I’ll go out on a limb and guess that it WON’T be Marc. The last time he had meaningless sex (that we know if), his life was shattered shortly thereafter. But, I could be wrong.
The three couples reuniting? Obviously, one is Connor and Wilhelmina. Most of us are pretty sure the second will be Betty and Matt (read on for more). Could the third one be Bobby and Hilda? Or, depending on what happens in episode 4.07, maybe Hilda and Archie will be due for a make-up?
As for who goes topless, it really doesn’t matter to me; from my point of view, it’s all good no matter who it is. :) I guess for comedy purposes, Betty would be funniest. Amanda or Wilhelmina would be the least surprising. Hilda is the wildcard, I guess.
Now, let’s turn to EOnline’s Kristin, who posted this in her spoiler chat:

I’m told he’ll make his choice in the Bahamas in next week’s episode, and then—he’ll be off the show four episodes later. So it seems they both lose in the end!
Many of you here have seen some promo pics of Matt celebrating Christmas with the Suarezes (still working on getting those to post here), so it’s safe to assume that Matt chooses Betty in the Bahamas, I think. Plus, if she’s going to have a pregnancy scare in 4.09, knowing Betty, Matt would HAVE to be the potential father. (I seriously doubt Betty will be one of the Modies seeking meaningless sex in the Bahamas, that would be so out of character).
But, Daniel Eric Gold leaving the show? Not that I’m a Metty shipper or anything, but the producers of Ugly Betty sure hate to have a character find love then keep them, don’t they? Not a single character has been able to keep a relationship longer than, what, six months? Come to think of it, knowing this tendency makes me think Archie and Hilda are due for a breakup.
Not that I want a “who will she choose” season or series finale. But, getting rid of Matt seems a little harsh. Will they kill him off? Or will he have a falling out with Betty or his father, and just leave? I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out.

topless = Matt
meaningless sex = Betty. It seems wrong timing for her to get back with Matt, just after she discovers that SHE CAN BE INDEPENDENT. Throwing back at a former love so quickly is just wrong. Maybe she is taking Bobby’s advice and go out and explore. Then regret of course. Matt will “let her be free”.

Interesting stuff with regards to the Matt situation, I wonder with Betty and Matt most likely reuniting and considering Matt’s past as a former sex addict will he revert back to his old ways and sleep with someone else? Also there’s a likelyhood that Daniel will get his money back from Connor which would mean no longer needing Hartley’s investment in Mode and he’d be pretty pissed at Matt using Betty. Perhap’s a combination of both factors will mean that Matt will be fired leading to no more Hartley’s.

As for the two who seek meaningless sex I’d say they’re Daniel and Marc.
The three couples reuniting I’m gonna say Wilhelmina and Connor, Hilda and Bobby and Betty and Matt.
For the topless woman I’d say Amanda!
This episode is gonna be awesome! Expect for the Shakira scenes. Damn you, Shakira.

hey thanks a lot for d spoilers tom…i just cant wait for d bahamas epi even more..looks like its gonna be totally hilarious..n now im totally sure dat metty will be back in dat epi itself..cuz “matt makes his choice”..n betty gets a “pregnancy scare”…but then d writers have never really failed to suprise me!!!
Though im not much of a metty fan i dont wanna see his character just knocked out of d show…dats just not working for me somehow..i really hope they just dont send him off..n itll be even worse if they call him back in d finale along with henry and gio and make it a “bettys choice” epi…even that idea is so uggh

I already saw that comment on ‘Matt’s leaving’ and shocked. Hmmm….assuming reunite of Betty and Matt, isn’t it too fast? 4 episodes? I’m not a Metty shiper but I liked character of Matt.(and also Daniel Eric Gold!) And I like Betty in love thing. She is so charming and sweet with Henry or Gio or Matt. I think authors should do sth very clear on scenario. And also I hope I can see Matt on the show more because I guess that is more natural way to proceeding the show.

I was surprised when I read that Matt is leaving after 4 more episodes when he & Betty just get back together.(assuming)I’m curious to see how they are going to write him out & will his father still be around. The way Ausiello put it he confirmed that Daniel Eric Gold will depart early 2010, but beyond that my lips are sealed. To me it sounds like he knows more than he’s letting on. I thought he would have been on the whole season since he got promoted to a regular….maybe that could explain why he wasn’t in the cast photo.

I was a bit surprised to learn that he would be leaving the show, but Ausiello’s spoiler (“He’ll be leaving the show early in 2010, but beyond that, my lips are sealed.”) just confused me. I think that Ausiello probably means that the character will come back at the end of the season, for the series finale if this is the show’s last season. I really, really, really hope that any series finale won’t have all of Betty’s guys coming back and she has to chose between them- I pray that the show will be more creative than that and if that does happen, it will be a HUGE, HUGE disappointment.
Matt’s dismiss also is not too much of a surprise, when I think about it a bit more, since his character hasn’t really had a whole lot to do this season other than being a romantic interest for both Amanda and Betty. And honestly, I haven’t seen anything really passionate between Betty and Matt so far (like what she experienced with Henry or even Gio) and so I’m just wondering whether they’ll seriously consider reuniting the two of them for a long period of time. But, with Matt gone, there’s still about 11 episodes left in the season and so I wonder what Betty will be up to- that’s what kind of makes me think that maybe she’s the one that pregnant since it would provide an interesting storyline for her that would last until the end of the season. I think that a pregnancy for Hilda would just be redundant since she already has one kid. Oh, I don’t know! All these spoilers are just really confusing me and I don’t know what to expect from the show which is pretty exciting since I hate shows where everything is predictable. :)

Sorry but to me matt was boring. I’m really not going to miss him when he leaves. I don’t mind seeing some more Bobby, he really won me over. I still miss Gio though. It would be awesome if the writers bring him back.

Matt is not boring.He is really sweet.I really think he should be with Betty.He loves her so much he forgets about his passion for art and work at Mode just to be around Betty.Maybe he was a little bad at the beginning but what do u expect, Betty broke his heart.But he took the job because of her.Because he loves her so much he needs to be around her even if their not dating. If that’s not true love then I don’t know what is.

I don’t want Matt to leave and I don’t want him to choose Betty :( Matt and Amanda have quickly become the thing I love most about the show. They have such fantastic chemistry and they look great together! Plus, it’s about time Amanda got herself a nice, cute boy. Betty gets them all!

I’ve heard that in the end Betty and Daniel end up together…that’s why she never remains with the others (Henry, Gio, Matt).
I don’t know if it’s true but after the cult episode, with the end scene where Daniel asks Betty if they kissed, I think that’s where their headed, especially since they are so close.
