Well, at least now we have a couple of answers about upcoming events on Ugly Betty. It probably isn’t a surprise to anyone, but it’s good to finally have confirmation: the strike-shortened 2nd season of Ugly Betty will have neither a musical episode nor Lindsay Lohan.
Since the musical episode was originally supposed to be the Valentine’s episode, and production costs are so high in such episodes, we already had our suspicions it wasn’t going to happen. Producer Silvio Horta has made it official. “We’re not doing a musical episode”, he says. We want to do one, and I think it’s a natural thing for the show, but not right now. Hopefully, next year.”
As far as Lilo is concerned, apparently, there just won’t be time this year. Although reports that Lindsay Lohan was in talks last November to guest star on the series were accurate, Horta says “it won’t likely be this season…. We love Lindsay and hope to work with her in the future, though when or in what capacity remains to be seen.”
Well, at least these two dangling items will give up plenty to speculate between seasons 2 and 3! Now, Silvio, lock yourself in a room with the writers and crank out episodes 2.14 and 2.15! We can’t wait till you start filming!
