Ugly Betty's Vanessa Williams Still Hanging Out In Nashville

Since I last told you about Vanessa Williams’ involvement in the Hannah Montana movie, we’ve learned a few more things. I know this because I live in Nashville, where the film is shooting, and you can’t turn around without seeing a news story about the film. It’s funny, part of the culture here is being nonchalant about spotting celebrities, because they are everywhere – and Nashville is much smaller than LA. I’ve run into country music up-and-comers at Walmart more than once.

But Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Williams, and Tyra Banks? Those are a different class of celebrity, and folks around here are going ga-ga. Click here to see a news video about some filming that took place in a local mall. I love the fact that Miley is going to fight Tyra Banks over a pair of shoes.

From the daily gossip dispatches that are coming from the local media, we’ve learned that Williams is playing Hannah Montana’s “pushy publicist”. That would probably mean that the role larger than we previousy guessed, certainly a supporting one. Williams has been involved in quite a few of the scenes filmed in the past couple of weeks. And being overly ambitious is a role tailor-made for Vanessa.

If Williams is going to be hanging out in my town for an extended period of time, I’m going to go into stalker mode to score an interview. I’ll let you know how it goes!
