CW just released it’s Fall 2009 line-up, and it’s not looking too good for eight-year veteran series “Smallville”. But first for some good news.
It looks like all of the regular cast are returning for season nine, after all, except for Aaron Ashmore and Sam Witwer, since their characters Jimmy and Davis died at the end of season 8.

However, this fall, CW will introduce several new shows. One is a remake and the two take on themes we’ve seen elsewhere.
“Smallville” producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer jumped the bandwagon to executive produce the rebooted “Melrose Place”, which was a hit series of the 80s. The new series is slated for Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. after “90210”.
“Beautiful Life” takes on cut-throat competitive lives behind the high-fashion model world, and comes after “America’s Next Top Model”. So you get the drift. CW wants to place shows with similar themes right after another, to get to viewers who like the same flavors. The third new series called “Vampire Diaries” need no explaining. Well, it’s not Twilight, but it’s the vampire-loves-human-loves-vampire triangle.
So guess what night “Vampire” will be thrown in? Find out after the cut, and the fate that befalls Smallville.
The teaser descriptions for the three shows look interesting, but I am certainly not happy that “Vampire Diaries” will take over Smallville’s slot on Thursday. Sure, “Supernatural” and “Vampire” run on the same blood, but… Smallville on a Friday night? Maybe it’s a good thing this is Smallville’s last season (or is it, really?) but Friday nights haven’t been the best nights of TV.
Well… maybe now it will be, coz I know Smallville fans are going to stick with the show!

“SMALLVILLE” Returning for its ninth season. Last season SMALLVILLE was filled with twists and surprises, starting with the disappearance of Lex Luthor. However, someone quickly arrived to take his place – the enticing Tess Mercer. As Tess maneuvered her way through town, she flirted with her old flame Oliver Queen, discovered Clark’s true identity and unleashed a new world of danger. As if that hurdle wasn’t enough for Clark, he also met his greatest match – Doomsday. SMALLVILLE explored the origins of Doomsday, revealing a sympathetic guy named Davis Bloome, who battled an inner demon – the Doomsday character fans have loved to hate for years. When Clark wasn’t busy battling the beast, he was knee-deep in work at the Daily Planet. Last season threw Clark and Lois Lane together – literally across the desk from each other. As Clark’s persona as the cub Planet reporter emerged, so did his feelings for Lois, the fated love of his life. The series stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Allison Mack as Chloe Sullivan, Erica Durance as Lois Lane, Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen and Cassidy Freeman as Tess Mercer. Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots,SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (“Shanghai Noon,” “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor”), based on the DC Comics characters. Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson serve as executive producers, along with James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions and Warner Bros. Television. SUPERMAN was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

Tom Welling can move to any night as long it’s not the same time as american idol on monday night! With Tom (Clark) flying on season 9 this will bring in new viewers! When he wears a Superman unifom that too will bring in some more new wiewers! We must act fast on these moves for this new format!!!
