Gilmore Girls player Vanessa Marano (who played Luke’s daughter, April Nardini) was cute and casual when she attended the “Cure For The Canyons 3″ event earlier this month in Los Angeles, California. The actress, who just finished a stint on soap opera Young & The Restless, is also in the midst of playing Rebecca Simmons in a 6-episode arc on Showtime’s Dexter. Her IMDB was also just updated with an appearance on the upcoming Fox drama Past Life, which will air next year.
It’s always so interesting watching child actors grow up on screen. What do you think of Vanessa’s transformation?

but now i checked hilary angelo and you’re right, she was in the same episode, we must just have noticed different girls.
yes of course kids are going to grow up, and good for them when they can make the transition to adult work. i just meant its strange when you see them as a kid, then not at all for ages and then suddenly they’re doing adult scenes. with your own child you are there (hopefully) to see them grow up through the transition so hopefully it is not as much of a shock!

it was not the same actress, it was someone named Hilary Angelo. she would have been a lot younger then.
i can understand not wanting to see child actors/actresses in more adult scenes, but it’s just like how you don’t want to know that your child isn’t a virgin anymore or something. if they are going to continue acting, they will not always be a child star.
she looks nice – pretty much the same. i think it is often hard for child actors to get work as they grow up because of the cringe factor seeing them do more adult scenes….i will never forget seeing gracie from the nanny (madeline zima) doing a hard core scene in californication…so wrong!! btw i noticed the same actress was in the GG ep with rory at chilton where she was told to socialise more – she was the girl who joined her for lunch at the end and put her walkman headphones in too. so i guess she had a quiet period doing small parts too for a while as she grew up…
