Vanessa Marano (April on Gilmore Girls) has taken on another new role, this time on the CBS daytime Soap Opera The Young and the Restless.
Vanessa Marano will replace actress Erin Sanders in The Young and the Restless in the role of Eden Baldwin. The reason for the switch was due to Erin not “resonating with fans” in the role. She was given an acting coach, then fired when that didn’t work. Here’s a scene with Erin Sanders as Eden:
Erin Sanders will continue as Eden Baldwin until November 19th, with Vanessa Marano taking over the role on December 3rd.
Vanessa has been doing a number of projects lately, including guest spots on The Closer and Ghost Whisperer, and upcoming movies including The Clique.

Erin Sanders, Vanessa Marano, both annoying, what is with the new kid, doesn’t she have anything original to contribute re: voice. God, she has such an annoying affectation. Every once in a while she slips and sounds normal – hey girl let that annoying “back of the throat” way of line delivery be gone.
ONE MORE THING — THE NEW EDEN IS EVEN TRYING TO ACT LIKE ERIN — what does that tell you?
THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE OLD EDEN — WHY?? When I first saw the old Eden I saw a great resemblance between her and Michael. That was great! It made it sooo believable —
NOW WITH THIS SWITCH — WE ARE ALL REMINDED that this is just acting! They are not real people — these people from GENOA CITY — Yeah we all know that but we can almost forget it — THEN THE BIG BOSSES MAKE THE SWITCH TO SOMEONE ELSE — and they do it early on — which is just as bad in my eyes and making the switch after a long while — WE WANT TO NOT BE REMINDED THAT THIS IS JUST ACTING — These people have grown up with us — We make it a priority to watch them day after day after day — WHY BRING US TO REALTY — KEEP THE CONSTANT PRETEND STORY GOING SO WE CAN THINK THEY ARE REAL instead of reminding us that they are not!!!!!!!!!!!
ONE MORE COMMENT — I love Crickett / Christine but I always remember reading trash about her constantly online for years — WHY DIDN’T THEY FIRE HER? Maybe because of her parents owning the show — So firing Erin Sanders isn’t fair — and I hope Erin knows that many think she did a spectacular job. I remember thinking numerous times when she cried especially what a great actress she is and how she made us feel her pain — and even looked so much like Michael!! AND NOW SHE IS GONE???????? AND NOW WE KNOW ONCE AGAIN — Y & R is just acting — WHAT A SHAME — thanks for reminding us ONCE AGAIN. *^&^%$$#@@@@@$%#%$#%#%#%#

The new girl is WORSE! I loved the old Eden. (well she grew on me!) Now she’s just another “sweet” girl and has lost that edge. Boring.
As for Heather, yeah she’s annoying.
Good Job on the Switch. Erin was way too much like Heather (assistant DA). Every time she would try to act – I closed my ears and finally turned away. Worst Actress. Good to hear of the replacement! Hope this little girl will do better! I wish these writers would get their actors and actress back to being a strong presence instead of this mickey mouse technique they are using. You created strong people, keep them that way! Oh yea!….can not stand this Nick & Sharon trip – hey they have grown up, families, why would you weaken them! More drama, real life and not weak life – there is a recession on out there, we must keep strong, keep our morales, keep our families together! Don’t break Nick & Phyliss up….She is the strong one…don’t like the path you are taking her on but perhaps you have something better ahead for her! Dont’ let our people of Y&R get weak! I think Vanessa will be better suited for the role, and can’t wait to see her in the recast!
