VH1 Forming Spice Girls Tribute Band

spice girlsVH1, the television station known for its reality television (Surreal Life and Flavor of Love anyone?) is putting together a show to create a Spice Girls tribute band.

Called Wannabe: Spice Girls , the show will include footage of the auditioning process coupled with clips of the original group’s career.

A panel will select the members of the new tribute band. The panel supposedly includes Big Brother’s Chanelle Hayes, Totally Boyband’s Roseann McBride, the Spice Girls’ former stylist Kenny Ho and the group’s one-time vocal coach David Laudat.

Executive producer Jeremy Davies said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing the girls who grew up learning all the Spice Girls songs and iconic dance moves auditioning for our band.

“And with the team behind the Spice Girls’ success on hand for advice and support we’re sure our girls will do Posh, Sporty, Ginger, Scary and Baby proud!”

Auditions will take place in London, Watford, Leeds and Liverpool starting on October 19th.

The show will premiere on November 16th.

Oh VH1 wasn’t that supposed to be a music network like MTV that has pretty much contradicted itself by playing more reality shows than music videos?….
