This video clip of Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, and Tilda Swinton on the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival shows the level of pandemonium one man can create when he’s an enormous star. Both John and Tilda got very excited welcomes with people calling their names in hopes of autographs and photo ops. They were also both very gracious.
However, when it’s Brad Pitt’s turn to hit the autograph line it becomes insane with an incredible level of screaming and freaking out. Brad, too, is extremely gracious in the video, waving to fans, happily signing autographs, and smiling for cameras.
My two favorite parts of the red carpet video?
1. Tilda Swinton smiling and apologetically joking, “I’m sorry I’m not Brad!”
2. The girl in the crowd who yells out, “I don’t even care if I fall over right now!” after seeing Brad Pitt. Cute!
Thank you to Ligaya for the heads’ up. She also informed me that the word in Toronto was that you needed to be there at least 4-5 hours ahead of time if you wanted to have even half a chance of getting an autograph!
There is also a Flickr Group with tons of photos of Brad Pitt and other stars at the Toronto International Film Festival, so be sure to go check them out!

I can’t help but wonder how Brad and Angie must have mixed emotions about their lives. They must be so proud and so happy that their movies provide so much entertainment and that the fans adore them. But on the other hand because they are so adored they have had to go into hiding more or less. I don’t see this changing any time soon.

I just love how fantasitic he is toward his fan.
Apparently he has left yesterday night around 11:30 after having dinner at Sotto around 10:30. Probably he was busy doing interviews that is why he left this much late yesterday. I love this man,he probably has arrived by now to his family.

Hehe it’s crazy how wild the people go! I think i would too. I bet seeing Ange and Brad in real life would be breath-taking! Well it would for me anyway. They are both so beautiful and admirable! Love Brad, he is so lovely and modest :)

That was off the chain. It is amazing the frenzy he creates. I hope all the haters eat their hearts out. I had heard conflecting reports that he was staying in Toronto for a Matt Damon event; and others are reporting that he has already left. If someone knows the real truth, please post… I’ll keep checking back. I hope Angie and the Kids are well, I know they are all missing him; and he them.

I was thinking… realistically, how long do you think they can be out of the public eye and maintain interest in them? I mean, maybe they don’t want attention, but I sort of think they do because they want to make popular movies and they want to have the celebrity for their causes…I wonder the “out of the public eye” time limit for a fickle world? Any thoughts?
By the way… I think the “W” spread is inspired… just when people really want to see her again.

even if they retire already i think people would still be interested in them – on the progress of the projects of their foundations and the growth of their kids. :)

I think there are lots of famous people who go into total/relative seclusion who are still objects of fascination/obsession: Lee Harper, J.D. Salinger, Joe di Maggio post-Marilyn, Salman Rushdie until most recently, bisexual Greta Garbo, bisexual Marlene Dietrich, Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward, Terence Malick, Stanley Kubrick, Debra Winger, Julia Roberts until recently, Sir Arthur C. Clarke…I’m sure there are more examples.

Hi Carrie…I really don’t think they “want it” at all (attention). If you’ve ever seen, read or heard; both Brad & Angie worry about the len’s. The flash bulb attention scares their children. I’ve heard Brad say that it worries him that his kids face a “wall” of papz screaming the kid’s name. To me, that is off limits. Angie has said say what you want about her, but leave her kids alone.

I know that it might seem crazy what I will say, but as much as I miss Angie (and believe me, I miss her terribly) I really applaud her decision of staying out of the public eye for so long. I’m very happy for her. I think that for the first time, she tasted the familly life, the home-staying mom for real. It must be such a nice feeling. She has been in this business for so long and I don’t think that she has ever been out of the public eye for so much time. True, she had periods of time, between movies, in which she stayed home with the kids, but we still couldsee her going to a movie with them or to the set of brad’s film. Now she really vanished :)) I am so content knowing that the paps must bite their nails because they cannot get close to her. She is still “best seller” nowdays :D The media will never lost interest in her, brad and the entire family, even if they vanist for long periods of time. I still haven’t seen any other public person to create such a phenomenon and to be so interesting to the public.
Angie, I love you, I miss you more than I can say, but I don’t want to see you yet :)) Stay there, girl. Enjoy your familly and you privacy for as long as you can!!!
All the best for everybody here :D

Have any of you seen the HBO “Making of Burn After Reading”? It is adoable. Francis McDormet
said she understands the hoopla around George and Brad as there presence is overpowering. She also said, that on her first day of filming with Brad she was so overwhelmed she couldn’t remember her lines. Ha

[Yummy article so I’m posting the link. OK, I know some people here don’t like she-who-must-not-be-named but I honestly think she’s a JP fan. (I think fans include those who see flaws.) I never agreed with the poster who basically said SWMNBN was in bed with Ugh Weakly. If anything, SWMNBN revealed to me how grasping and venal Janice Mean is. And I don’t understand why legitimate media quote Mean as if she even has a passing acquaintance with truth and facts.]

As is the case with every Pitt appearance, some fans arrived before 9am, almost 12 hours early, to keep their spots hoping that…Because they turned up en masse, banana ass crazy, surging with excitement. Brad obliged them for a significant amount of time, signing autographs, greeting his public. ET Canada did however manage to sneak in a question: Brad, what did Angie think of your character in the movie? Brad: It was the first time she wasn’t sexually attracted to me.
It never gets old – it must be coded into his DNA when there is Brad Pitt, there is no one else. Right now, as you know, Brad Pitt is selling Burn After Reading, a film he genuinely seemed to be honoured to be a part of and a role he seemed to relish playing. Most agree his performance is hilarious, refreshing, and also disturbing. So disturbing, he mentioned during the press conference that “my other half” was disturbed by his performance too. Actually, his Other Half seemed to be top of mind during the hour. Several times he answered questions alluding to his Angelina…and in particular, when asked whether or not he and the Jolie would work together again, his answer: Angie and I work together every day. Trust me.
He then headed out for dinner at Sotto Sotto, had a car waiting out front but ducked out back instead, and then dashed over to his private plane to return home to his family. No confrontation, no secret hook up with his ex-.
