Video Friday

I’d like to give you some videos for your Friday night viewing enjoyment.

First up – Going back to one of my favorite movies, Tomb Raider, here is a video of the training that Angelina went through in order to play Lara Croft. A lot of people refer to how her body looked in that movie, so here’s how she got it.

Keep going, there are more!

A rather entertaining video containing some scenes from various Japanese commercials including some hilarious booty-shaking dancing that he did in between takes. Yes, I said booty-shaking, come on, click on play and see!

An Angelina Jolie tribute video that I enjoyed.

And a really beautiful video about Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their relationship together and with the kids. Also, I confess I’m partial to it because it’s set to “In the Name of Love” which is one of my favorite U2 songs.

Tonight I’m celebrating the arrival (finally!) of the weekend by getting offline and watching A Mighty Heart. It didn’t play in my little suburban area and so I haven’t had the chance to see it yet – I’m really looking forward to it!

Question for Sherry, I would be interested to know why you chose Brad Pitt for your web site and when did you start this site? I know why I like him and I would love to know how you feel about him. Thank you

Hello Ana – my feeling is that it has not been fame that has helped her grow…to my observation, it was responsibility she took by adopting Maddox…her growth came from mothering and seeing the ways she could help in the world. Fame is simply a means to her goal….and look at her reward!!! Maddox helped Brad see himself as a Dad. Jolie was sweeter to him because it meant instant fatherhood!

Maganda, I am Filipina. Born and raised in the Philippines until I was 8 (with visits back). My dad, like lots of Filipinos, joined the U.S. Navy and we moved to Guam, then the U.S.

It’s interesting how time and fame has changed her.

If you watch the first sequences of the Tomb Raider clip up there, you could tell from her body language that, by then, she still felt unsecure and uneasy.

She seems so different from what she is now, doesn’t she? Fame made her so confident!

Lucy, you don’t happen to have the url for that, do you? I went to JJ archives and searched under “Tomb Raider/Lara Croft/Angelina Jolie/Maddox” (separately) but the stuff only went back to 2006.

Luuuuuv Maddox, he’s my main man – I’d love to see the pics you’re talking about.

Thank you ligaya. Your words are very touching.

I know I won’t be Angelina Jolie overnight. And I know I’m no Angelina Jolie now or ever. But I know I can be someone as great as her. I do try my best to value the world, understand everyone but afterall I’m still a teen so I still do stupid things. But thanks for your encouragement.

Hello everybody and thank you Sherry for sharing this video. I want to add that Simon Crane is the same action person in charge of production in Lara Croft, Troy and MMS. Also, someone from JJ posted a series of slides when they were filming MMS (from JJ archives) it showed Angie playing with Maddox in between takes. When she was dressed in that Tango scene, she was carrying Madd who was just a baby during break.

I have found that I do not have to learn it all at once. It is more affordable to do one at a time.

Hi everyone…I just finished watching AMH and I feel transformed by this beautiful piece of storytelling about a subject that is very difficult to understand and grasp in today’s media choked world. I’m in such awe that BP & AJ had the consciousness to capture Marianne Pearl’s story so well, and to courageously get this message out: We need to understand more points of view than our own, feel more deeply for others (and ourselves!) and do whatever we can to reach for integration. Bottom line is AJ’s work for education in the humanitarian efforts to which she has dedicated her life. My prayer is that AJ & BP continue to live for that higher vision and continue to light our lives in a supreme example of getting past this tabloid media existence so many fall for…and live our life’s love — always staying focused on the big picture — making a good life while helping as much as we can with the resources and moments we are given. We have so much to share, and give… Isn’t that what makes the world go ’round? Bravo AJ and Bravo Plan B!!! This is a heart opening movie – and Thank You Marianne Pearl for helping us see through your loss to the high ground of LOVE.

Angelina is such a great role model for everyone – especially for women (especially for my soon-to-be 56 y.o. self). She shows us how to be brave and take risks, be true to ourselves no matter how unpopular, be aware of our place in the world, be compassionate and generous (and not just with $$) and loving, to make mistakes & learn from them & change & grow.

Passerby, you are so lucky to be young. You have a lifetime to do what you want to do. You’re probably already like Angelina in a lot of ways – you share a lot of her values, otherwise you wouldn’t be a fan. You don’t have to become Angelina overnight – that’s pretty hard to do, even by adults with money. But over the years, step by step, you can work to follow in her footsteps.

Besides working hard (a little too much & too hard, IMO), some of things important to Angelina which you can apply to yourself as a student are: studying, reading, asking questions, and learning from reading/experience/observation/example. Expose yourself to the world, other cultures & ways of thinking & economic levels. Learn there’s more than one way of looking at things, that the media/government/corporations are not always reliable and truthful.

These all apply to me too, I just have less time than you. But better late than never.

    Sorry, got carried away. :-)
