Video: Is That Britney Spears’ Singing ‘Telephone’? Does It Matter?

For those of you who spent the beautiful weekend doing something other than being glued to your computer, a purported leak of a Britney Spears demo of “Telephone” hit the web. Since Lady Gaga originally wrote the song for Britney, there’s even a chance it might be real! Or an equal chance that it’s not, since there’s so much auto-tune going on that the voice could as easily be Hal from 2001 with a couple octave changes. But as Vulture points out, with every popstress being accused of stealing Gaga’s style, just having something out there on the web reminding people that even Gaga had to pay her dues to Spears is enough good publicity for Britney to keep her mouth shut and not admit that the demo might be fake.
