Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in good company as two of the top 100 most influential people of the year for Time Magazine. They’re in among fellow humanitarian Bono, as well as Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and even J.K. Rowling among countless other people of great influence.
If you go to the site, you can vote for as many people as you want; click on the name and then you can score them as to how influential they are in your opinion. I managed to vote for five people that I greatly admire so far. The site is a little busy so you may have trouble getting the names to load so if you can’t vote now, bookmark it and go back a little later! It’s great to see our Jolie-Pitt couple getting some recognition.

Update: Special thanks to the readers who advised me in the comments as well as via email that Brad was on the list too. I was having trouble getting the whole list to load so I didn’t see him at first. I’m glad to have great readers who spot everything!

I voted but was a little disappointed with what they wrote up about angelina. They say:

CON: Mass skepticism over the sincerity of her charity—with many commentators claiming her actions to be self-serving attempts to drum up publicity. Accusations that her three international adoptions were fast-tracked because of her celebrity.
I think they could have added some more detail to her humanitarian works and avoided hearsay about the adoptions.
In my opinion generating publicity for those in need is a positive thing not a con. This is a poll for the most influential people. I think she has used her influence wisely.
Jess, while I do agree with you completely that she has used her influence wisely, to be fair they did the same thing for everyone on the list. Everyone gets a list of pros and a list of cons. They don’t explain either one, they just list them. If it was just her, I’d be ticked off but everyone was treated pretty equally.
Ummm…Did anybody notice they say “……Since ‘marrying’ angelina jolie……” on Brad’s Con?
