Walt Disney Pictures is gearing up for a new film called “Secretariat”. It’s a true story about the life story of Penny Chenery, owner of the racehorse Secretariat, who won the Triple Crown in 1973. Casting for actors is underway and you can find out about it here.
Not only are they looking for people to be in the film, but they need horses! The website dedicated to the horse says they are going to have an open casting call for horses to portray the legendary 1973 Triple Crown winner.
"The selection of the horses to portray Secretariat is a matter of great interest to me," said Penny Chenery, Secretariat’s owner. "I am delighted Disney is embracing the challenge of finding the best representative for my handsome colt."
Filming starts September 28th! This sounds like a great film and I love the fact that it’s a true story.

Hi, I have Horse for you. Her name is Moonlight Sage. She is a chestnut thoroughbred with white socks and is an ex-race horse, but she still runs fast in her open field in Chester, Connecticut. She has also been in the movie “Dreamer” and is looking forward to playing many more onstage roles. She is a good horse and I love her. I know she will make a great addition to your Secretariat family!
