The prime suspect would be that guy, Howard Stern:
Sure, she was on diet pills and who knows what else, but Smith also had a brand new husband partner, her lawyer Howard K. Stern. Seems a bit odd that her and her son would both die within months of each other, and you know, there’s a lot of money at stake. The early guesses are saying it was likely a heart problem.
In addition, seemed like her mom realized that Howard might’ve been trying to make a power play:
In October 2006, Anna Nicole Smith’s mom, Virgie Arthur, told Nancy Grace on CNN Headline News that after the death of Anna’s son, Daniel, she was concerned that Howard K. Stern was the one in line to inherit Anna’s millions.
"If Howard Stern marries her and she ends up dead, then who does the money go [to]? Danny’s not there," Arthur said.
In addition, reports are surfacing that Howard Stern was being seriously considered in the investigation of Daniel Smith (Anna Nicole Smith’s son) untimely passing:
Anna Nicole Smith’s longtime attorney and partner Howard K Stern is fighting tabloid reports he was responsible for the death of the actress/model’s son Daniel last September (06).
The lawyer admits he was stunned by claims he was seen flushing Methadone down the toilet at the home he shared with Smith in The Bahamas shortly after his partner’s son was found dead in the hospital room where she delivered her baby daughter.
Daniel died of a lethal drug overdose.
Stern insists there are people who are out to set him up for murder, and he’s appalled by their "despicable" behaviour.
Did he do it? Did Anna know?

Smith’s daughter, now possibly in line for a massive inheritance, is being claimed by two fathers, attorney Howard K. Stern and entertainment writer Larry Birkhead.
Lastly (for now), there also this little tidbit:
Smith’s lawyer Howard K. Stern insists that before Birkhead started working for the model-actress, he had signed a confidentiality agreement with her that he would not talk to the media on the matter.
Birkhead, however, claims ignorance about signing any such agreement, though he contends that the potential financial penalty of appearing on TV news shows will be worth it if he wins the paternity battle.
"This is my child; it doesn’t matter what the penalty is… I’m just defending myself," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.
The "Agreement Not To Communicate With The Media" consent form was obtained by news show ‘Entertainment Tonight’ prior to Birkhead’s latest interview, telecast on Tuesday night.
It features Birkhead’s signature and initials and a handwritten addendum that states, "If I breach this agreement then I will pay a liquidated damages sum of ten million dollars, and any money received would revert back to Anna Nicole Smith as damages from any breach."
If Anna’s money all goes to Howard in the event of her death, then he gets an extra $10 million from his main rival for her money affections. Pretty Machiavellian, I must say, but I guess we’ll see as time goes by.
UPDATED: What are the legal ramifications of Anna Nicole’s death? Here’s one lawyer’s opinion:
This is assuming CA law controls which is really uncertain right now.#1 If Anna died without a will, then everything would go to her daughter, UNLESS she and Howard K Stern were legally married.#2 If she and Howard K Stern were married, and there was not a will, then one half of the estate would go to Howard and the other half to her daughter.Here are some possible issues-#1 If Howard believed he married Anna Nicole Smith, but in actuality did not, he could still be afforded the rights of what is known as a putative spouse.#2 Inherited property is separate property which means that even if she was legally married, the money Anna was receiving from her deceased husband can all be left to her daughter if she provided for her daughter in the will.#3 Mr. Birkhead is NOT entitled to any money even if he is the father, and would probably not be able to touch any of his daughter’s money except for Health, Education and Welfare. HEW would be her necessary expenses. In this kind of situation, that money will be tremendous and Mr. Birkhead will no doubt live large, but HE will not actually own anything.#4 Even IF Mr. Birkhead is judged to be the father, he would not automatically gain custody of his daughter. The court would decide who would be the best parent of those who petition the court.#5 Her son’s death should not have any effect on this proceeding.
#6 The money she is going to get from her deceased husband is still in litigation. The fact that her adversary in that proceeding is also dead will mean that it will be an estate vs estate battle.

i think that both nicole and danielle were murdered.either that or BOTH of them were taking something and overdosed,,which is very unlikely!i think that howard k. stern did it and he needs to be charged!thank God that he didnt win custody of her child because she probably wouldve ended up dead to!!i will pray for this family and hopefully they will find out the truth!

I can’t see part of this screen for whatever reason, not loading right, so if there’s typos, forgive me. Anna Nicole was murdered. She was another gift taken away by a controlling domestic abuser. People think it’s just money their after. What they really want is control. They’re personality disorders, really. They want to snuff out the songbirds in life because they can’t stand the music. They look normal, they sound normal, everyone thinks they’re great people, until they get in a relationship. Then their real motivations and real sickness takes shape. What was lying under the surface comes out. The abuser is like a moth drawn to a flame and then tries to put the flame out. It’s a destructive instinct they were given after years of abuse themselves. IF the daughter is allowed to be raised in this environment, she’ll become one too. That’s the great victory. First, the songbird (Anna) is stripped of what she loved most, her son. If she decided to leave or couldn’t be controlled anymore with the usual means, then she had to be removed too. Which is another victory for the abuser, to hurt the rest of us watching, the rest of us looking up to her as a sharp, courageous, fun-loving personality. The final victory would be to turn the songbird’s dauthter into an abuser. Four victories. The money is just extra, icing on the cake. The real victory is ending the music, and perpetuating the abuse. Pardon my melodramatic and informal tone. Its easy to be dry and serious and quote statistics, but sometimes you just want to wax the poetic if it gets to a simple meaning of things. Dark things hate the light. They’re like twisted children that feel the need to break china. The smarter, shrewder ones get aaway with it.

Her lawyer boyfriend is responsible for her and her son’s death whether he did it or not. He was her caretaker. I’m 99.9% sure he did it or had someone do it for him so he could collect. i think she got murdered by howard. its so odd that daniel and anna both died of a drug overdose thing & that howard was supposedly not there at both times. plus he is a lawyer and all lawyers know how to lie off their ass so maybe he is lying.

I totally agree, It will definitely be a hard case to prove that both Anna and her son were murdered, but with more and more new evidence it can be very convincing that it could only be the reson of why a mother and son die in almost the same way within 5 months of ach other. Now it might not have been Howard that was behind it, but it doesn’t look good on him. As well as a laywer he knows everything about her, and as a friend of hers for more than 10 years most would not accuse him of murder. The only thing different was now a baby plays into the story. Someone would have had to take Daniel out of the picture first because if Anna went first Daniel would be entitled to the inheiratence. Whoever it was knew that Daniel coming to the Bahamas Hospital and that would be an opportunity to take him out of the picture. Which makes it more strange was the private detective number found on daniel when he died, which proves he himself was suspicious of Howard or someone. Over months and many drugs it was only a matter of time before Anna would die too. Which is somewhat suspicious, and many ask in her condition and potentionally leathal combination of drugs why didn’t anyone stop them when she showed flu like symptoms?, why weren’t they monitering how much she was taking?, with her money how did she get a contaminated needle? and what were they covering up when the EMS wasn’t called till 30 minutes after she was noticed dead? It is all too suspicious and definitely a tradgedy. Unforntunately Howard was there when both deaths occured, and is in controll of the baby currently. If there wasn’t anything to protect (money) he would agree with the paternity test. So if he does not want to be accused, shouldn’t he be doing everything he can to prove he is complyent and innocent. The whole situation is just tradgic and doesn’t seem right to be accidental.

Yes i just wanted to say how mad i am at that user Howard K Stern Hes not a good guy he is a user and a thief and probably amurderer POOR DANIEL came there for 1 or 2 days and got stuck being buried there where he didnt live. And Howard is a snake in the grass people wake up!!!!!!! Why do u think he advised Anna to move there in the first place? to advoid the DNA TEST because he is not the father or he would let them do the test hes NOT the father!!!!He only wants to hold on to that poor baby as long as he can because she is the only 1 left now The money train as he probably killed the other ones in her family. one of the reasons he may have had somthing to do with it which i think he did is because Anna was going to have to tell what happened in that hospital room and he knew if she told he brought the meds into the hospital he would be in very big trouble, which i pray with all my heart he will be in trouble anyway what a creep!!!! Give that poor little baby to the grandmother until they do the DNA test and find out if Larry is the father! Something tells me they better start looking at Howard Stern. A healthy young man doesn’t just drop dead at 20 years old. And even a grieving, distraught mother on too many medications doesn’t just drop dead at 39 while under the care of a registered nurse.
Funny how all of a sudden it’s noted that Howard is the beneficiary of ELEVEN Life Insurance Policies. How convenient and what timing! It makes perfect sense he got rid of her after getting rid of Daniel and before a new beneficiary could be nominated as Danielynn. After she was rescued by her bodyguard from almost drowning to death in her pool, it should be noted he blurted out, “If something happens to you, I will go to jail.” I guess it wasn’t the proper way to die as Howard would have wanted, so she got scolded for that one. But after all, he was adamant that she get her drugs and gave Daniel his own death cocktail. He dragged Anna on a plane to Florida when she totally sick. Then he went out to buy a boat. AMAZING! Remind me never to hook up with someone as caring as that jackass!
Oh and Entertainment Tonight makes me sick now. I’m boycotting that show from here on in.

howard murdered them both. her son came to the bahamas to see his sister, his mother, and to plead with her to give the natural father his due. he died because of that. anna died later because she was a good person, and thought she should give the father his due. birkstead will be found to be the natural father.
Ana Nicole smith could have been Murdered but again I had that ,that ….. was highly involved with drugz so again this issue is so Confusing. but if its true the the lawyer knowz it all.
