We here at Crushable have been a friend (and fan) of Dannielle Kyrillos since we first learned of Daily Candy’s existence. So we were pleasantly surprised to find out that she would be joining Gail Simmons as a judge on Bravo’s new show Top Chef: Just Desserts. And when we caught up with Dannielle recently, we immediately got her to spill the beans on her weird celebrity crush:
Tomorrow night’s episode of Top Chef: Just Desserts challenges the chef-testants to create edible fashion, or to say it another way, wearable desserts, and of course this brings to mind my weird celebrity crush, John Hodgman. “Why? How? Who?”, you ask? I will tell you. John Hodgman is a hilarious man, a writer and an actor, and while I’m not sure he’s ever worn pants made of cake, I suspect he would be open to it. That’s just his style.
There’s nothing he can’t do: two almanacs composed nearly entirely of invented facts that make you cackle, loudly, wherever you happen to be reading them; a list of 700 hobo names including “Meep Meep, the Italian Tailor” and “Weekend-Circular Deborah;” the long-running stint as the personification of a freaking computer; and several show-stealing roles on the big and small screens. These days you can catch him guest-starring as a smarmy literary critic on HBO’s awesome Bored to Death, and if you’re tempted, as I am, to scream “I LOVE YOU!” each time he appears, even playing such a cretin (brilliantly, of course) just remember, you won’t be alone.
