However she was either delusional or in denial about that since her actions took advantage of money whenever it was available and to her advantage to accept it, be the source of money her mom, Chris, Logan, or her grandparents. Because Logan was from good breed and rich they assumed he was perfect for Rory. I always thought he was a jerk. Same thing with Christopher. They couldn't wait for Lorelai to get back him while every time he broke her heart. Just because he had money and represented something on the social scale they approved him. Most of all, I hated how they treated Luke, especially at their vows renewal or when Emily finds out that Richard took him golfing, in front of all their friends. She says he's not good for Lorelai and can't be a proper stepfather for Rory while he has always been more present and more a father figure to her than her real dad ever was. Lorelai managed to escaped this shallowness because she had to work hard at a very young age. Rory, on the other hand, picked up on her grandparents for this part. Like when they told lorelai it was embarrasing to tell their friend she was pregnant at 16 rather than wondering how hard it must have been for her and what they could do to help.
