According to Michael Eisner, the strike is over! (Thanks to Dawn for some really great comments about this situation.) Now, we just need to convince NBC that we really, really need more Medium episodes. So far, Medium is not on the list of shows that will resume filming, but I heard that the list wasn’t complete yet, so I guess we should not abandon all hope?
The bad news? Many writers will not be returning to high paying jobs they had before the strike. I hope the writers for Medium won’t be affected by this. They are good at what they do.

I hope that this thing really is over, finally, Katelyn. Mostly for all of the people who have been hurt so badly by this situation, but also because I WANT MY MEDIUM BACK!! Lol!
I REALLY hope that the LA Times article is accurate and that production on a lot of shows, ESPECIALLY MEDIUM, resumes right away. They say it could take four to six weeks to ramp up production again, and that it could cost an additional $200,000 dollars per episode to get back into the swing of things. This will hurt the shows with large casts and complicated sets and plotlines, such as “Lost”, “24″ and “Heroes”, which are all expected to be held until next fall. (With the exception of “Lost”, which has a few episodes filmed that are airing now.) Most of the sitcoms look like they’ll be returning as well, and it looks like NBC will bring back L&O and L&O:SVU as well.
Let’s hope that this is true for Medium as well.
I certainly hope this is true and everyone – even those who were released from their contracts due to that clause – get back to work pronto! At least Medium does have a smaller cast and a nice set – I suppose they could put the kibosh on fancy location shoots for the rest of the season, but I’d rather have Medium than location shoots!
Thats good to hear!! Im glad its over and Now its time for new hirings for new Writers and they need to put their foot at the door to build a career .. they deserve it..
Sorry to hear for those current Writers is not getting high paying like they used to .. but thats all I have to say.
Many Blessings for them.
Well, I for one have no problem in being proved wrong should they go back to filming for this current season! Works for me, baby! Will be interesting days ahead to see just what the fallout will be and who’s still on the payroll. I hope all goes well from here on out. Just so damn happy it’s over!
So glad it’s over…but this was posted a MONTH ago! Any word on whether or not Medium is resuming production? I can’t believe we could end up with a season of 9 EPISODES????
I’ve been buying all of the seasons on DVD as well…and can’t fathom buying a season with only 9 episodes on it.
Please, does anyone have any word on Medium’s finishing any more episodes?
Hi Chris,
They are filming like mad and should have several more episodes before the season’s end.
Don’t mean to be doubting you…but how do you know this? Where is this info coming from?
(Just a big lover of the show, and can’t wait to see the season continue after episode 9).
Thanks,
Chris
Chris,
Patricia Arquette and Glenn Gordon Caron both have talked about the fact that they are back to work in media interviews. They really are making more episodes this season, honest! It’s hard to believe after it seemed like we’d never see an end to the strike, isn’t it?
OMG!
Woo-hoo! I am a huge fan of the show…and this is the best news I’ve heard all week
And yes, it is very hard to believe, that strike was ENDLESS!!!
I am so jazzed now…can’t wait to get home from work and watch tonight’s episode
Thanks so much Katelyn…
BTW, the website is awesome!
