What did you think of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?

WARNING: If you haven’t gone to see the movie yet, and want to be surprised, stop reading!

Our whole family went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night with a FULL theater (and no air conditioning – thanks Regal Cinemas). Here’s my impressions of the movie:

  • From start to finish, I was absolutely riveted to my seat. The movie was like what, almost three hours long? I didn’t notice.
  • Daniel, Emma, Rupert, Tom, shoot, the entire cast – they were completely brilliant. Best performances yet.
  • Rupert has some serious comedic chops, as does Daniel.
  • The cursing of Katie Bell scared me more than anything else in the movie. The way she was screaming and suspended like that….seriously creepy.
  • Dumbledore kicked some serious Inferi ass. Fire! Fire! Fire!
  • The Lavender and Won Won bit got tiresome quick. I wanted Hermione to hex her with zits or something.
  • Ginny and Harry kiss, it’s romantic, blah blah blah GET TO THE WIZARD STUFF.
  • Draco…wow. What an incredibly complex character he turned out to be, right?
  • We need more Luna Lovegood!
  • The scene with Professor Slughorn saying a few words over Aragog is hilarious, everyone was laughing. And Slughorn was awesome.
  • Teenage Tom Riddle gave me the creeps.
  • You knew that Snape was going to kill Dumbledore, but it still came as a shock.
  • Best scene of the film in my opinion – the entire school standing outside around Dumbledore’s lifeless body, shining their wands up into the air, completely defeating the darkness above. Not a dry eye in the house. I was blubbering, it was actually quite embarrassing.
  • And this is how you know it was a good movie: the entire theater burst into applause as the last scene faded out. Wonderful!

Seriously, I loved it. LOVED IT. I think it might be my favorite HP movie yet, but I say that about all of them. I don’t think it’s too intense for younger kids, my 9 year old went and yes, she was pretty scared but she knew what was coming since she’s read all the books and watched all the clips.

If you’ve gone, what did you think?

I went twice in the past 24 hours since I loved it so much! When Harry was under the influence of the wonderful Felix Felicis, I laughed hysterically- Dan is a great comedic actor! This is one of my favorite movies of the series (I think it stuck to the book much better than the 5th), though I was a bit disappointed at the lack of the Battle of Hogwarts and funeral. I, like Wendy, loved the scene with all the students around Dumbledore’s body, but it wasn’t the funeral in the book. Also, the conversation between Harry and Hermione at the end leaves the Harry/Ginny relationship still together (since we never REALLY saw them together that much in the film), while in the book Harry breaks up with Ginny. Also, I was sad there was no “Weasley is our King” even though they totally could have had it when they were in the common room around the time of Ron’s first kiss. And no U-No-Poo!

It may sound like I’m criticizing the film, but those were basically the only things I seriously noticed and missed in it. I loved how this one REALLY set up for the final two films, knowing that this screenplay was written AFTER Deathly Hallows came out. I am really excited at how amazing this one turned out and can’t wait to venture to the theatre yet again with more family members and friends to see the movie again! And I’m just itching to see the first part of Deathly Hallows… though I know that’ll be a while. :]

I thought it was definitely the best of them all!

  3. Name

The best two parts of the book didn’t even make the cut. Winning the cup and the battle at the end. I am shocked your theater burst into applause, mine was filled with groans. Worst last 20 minutes to a Potter film yet.

  4. Momo

I have mixed feelings about this one. I am a little bit annoyed actually. I loved it almost all the way through! I thought the humor was so much better than in the last film. It was not just silly it was actually really funny! Katy being cursed was great fisually, loved the fight in the bathroom! Draco was generally fantastic! And so was everyone else! I realy enjoyed Slughorn, which I did not think I would. And I think how they condensed the books worked mostly really well! Cinematography was the best ever in a HP film. But sorry I did find the ending everything else but emotional or dramatic. And I am not alone. I felt like they were rushing it and the way it was filmed it just did not seem like a big deal to me. It felt like everyone accepted the fast that Dumbledore was murdered and that by one of them really quickly. They have done such emotional stuff before with Zedric and Serious dying and Harry fighting Voldemort out of his head while Dumbledore was watching. So they can do it, but this just was not very dramatic. I wanted to feel and see this total dispear and disbelieve and fury in Harry and the others too. It just wasn’t quite there. And it was kind of important to me to see Snape snap and loose control just once when Harry follows him and calls him a coward. I loved Snape all the way through, he was great but I feel like if they had gone for more runnign, shouting and fighting it would have helped to convey the crazyness and drama of the situation. It just all seemed a bit casual to me.
And what really annoyed me was the fact that it seemed such a big deal for Draco to get the vansihing cabinet working when there was actually no need for it! They choose to leave out the attack fo the deatheaters on Hogwarts, fair enough but they still made it all important to get them into the castle. What for?! Just to escort Draco on the way out! Snape was there anyway to tkae care of it, so what was the point? That really bugs me somehow.

Lest thing to rant about: Narcissa Malfoy! -We had this before, I did quite like the scene with her and Snape, though I would have liked to see her more in tears but thats ok. But her look! She looked like a 1950ies gradmother of a gangster in a Tim Burton film! -nice look yes, but not for Mrs Malfoy! How is she supposed to look fitting next to Lucius in the next film? …She was waering muggle stilettoes….

but to say something more positive at the end, otherwise, till the end section it was propably my favorite too, and I just love they gave Lucius’s cane a little scene! -oh sorry, “it’s not a cane, it’s a walking stick” hehe

well, but interesting how different audiences can react. People were laughing a lot all the way through jsut like me and my friend but you could feel the dissapointment in the end. I overheared some people on the way out saying that the ending was just such an anticlimax and that it was such a shame.

And now please don’t jump down my throat! -I really wanted to enjoy the film and I did it just really annoyes me that they messed the ending up like that. It was not nessesary.

Firstly, I was looking forward to this film maybe most than all others as I enjoyed the book the most. The film was funny, I was pleasantly surprised to see Harry at his funniest after drinking the Felix Felicis. However, the way I had expected it to be a lot darker, well that let me down.

Moreover, the random scene in there with the Weasley’s house just came out of nowhere. I agree they were trying to show the effects on everyone, but why could they not stick to the book a bit more and show the Bill storyline at the end; surely that would have had more of an impact than the fire.

Also, I agree with Momo, the use of the Death eaters was not made clear at the end. Again, if they had Fenrir Greyback there, then surely they could have showed Bill get attacked and the whole fight between the Order and the Death Eaters.

The way that Lupin was also portrayed was quiet hard to believe. He was aggressive and shouting for no reason, whereas, it would fit his role much better that he calmly advised Harry.

On a more positive note though, the Ron and Lavender situation was very funny to watch, definitely one of the highlights. Very emotional when Harry is comforting the distraught Hermione. The Ron-Hermione scenes built up the tension, definitely portraying them both as having grown up a lot since the last movie.

The Snape and Narcissa scene was gripping, yet I would have expected Narcissa to be a bit more worried and her fear shown a lot more rather than Bellatrix’s way of trying to show Snape as disloyal. Perhaps, the film could also have mentioned Sirius a bit, he had just died. The confusion of who Tonks really loved would have been interesting to watch.

The ending could have been a lot better. It happened all very quick as if they were just trying to fit everything in. Dumbledore could have been portrayed as a bit more weak and his plea to Snape been with a bit of fear. It was almost as if Dumbledore was asking Snape to kill him (knowing the end, maybe this is what the director wanted, yet the audience would have been more shocked and angry at Snape if he was portrayed as heartless due to Dumbledore’s state). However, the wand raising was a bit more moving and definitely created the right impact.

The scene where Harry and Ginny are in the room of requirement was disappointing, put in there only to try and show the feelings between the two. Yet, it would have been more dramatic if they had stuck to the book and Harry was trying to hide the book out of fear. The Harry-Ginny kiss again would have been more dramatic if it had happened as a complete shock, as portrayed in the book after winning the Quidditch match.

Overall, the cave scene was probably the best, would have expected more action but an almost 3 hour film can’t have everything I suppose.

  6. hermioneg247

Actually Momo, once I read your comment and then my comment again I realized most of my complaints WERE about the ending. I think the book ended it so well and if they had stuck to it a bit more, the ending could have been amazing! It did seem a bit rushed at the end and I think if only they could have tied up a few loose ends through the battle and funeral (longer scenes), everything would have made a bit more sense and the ending wouldn’t have been ‘anticlimactic’ (though I still thoroughly enjoyed it). That being said, I still thought the ending was satisfactory and I’m glad, since they didn’t have the scenes I’d hoped for, that they ended it this way, since it’s definitely a better ending than it COULD have been. And I think the very end, seeing the lamenting Fawkes flying away was a beautiful ending.

  7. sara

I loved the movie! Everything you said was great! I do have a litlle bit of complaint about no fighting with the death eaters, and harry not being immobilized at the end, but oh well you can’t go back and change it. I really loved the scene with all of them standing with their wands up at dumbeldores body and how the light vanished the dark mark and turned into a phonix, that was very touching. All in All a great movie!

  8. Ben

I thought it was a good movie, but there are a few things I would have changed. I would of gotten rid of the “burning down the burrow” scene and kept the fight at Hogwarts. Why add a scene that doesn’t exist in the book and cut out what I thought was the climax of the book. WTF? I also would have kept Harry and Ginny’s kiss the way it was in the book, the movie version was really sappy. Overall good movie I loved how they really focused on the character development and the acting was excellent. Just the last 20 minutes was rushed which is understandable because they need to keep the movie from running too long, but it could of been kept in if they got rid the burrow scene and the whole subway scene in the beginning.

  9. dpetch

I was very disappointed!! It wasn’t true to the book at all! The Burrow attack was completely fabricated and unnecessary. They left out vital parts of the book and the movie was lacking a lot of facts! While I did like it, I found the added Ginny and Harry scenes awkward and uncomfortable. She didn’t go in to the room of requirement with him (they kissed after a Quidditch match that Harry couldn’t attend because of detention), the entire ending was made up!! Harry barely even had his cloak with him when he was supposed to have it with him at all times and be stunned by Dumbledore in the end (not run in to Snape), he never got pulled under water by the Inferi, they didn’t hold a funeral for Dumbledore, they didn’t have a big fight scene when the Death Eaters snuck in, and sooo many more things I won’t even mention! Suffice to say I was very disappointed!! Oy vey.

  10. Momo

Despite all I said before, I have to disagree about the Burrow scene, Lupin and Ginny. I at least did not mind the borrow attack. It was very conematic and more or less effective, but I agree that there simply should have been a little more time for the finale. Not sure they needed the whole fight at the end but it just seemed all a little lame that everyone seemed to be sleeping through the invasion and murder. A bit of real emotional chaos would have been important. It is annoying that the director felt he could satisfy us with some totally uneffective vandalism from Bella. What I mean is, it seems to me like they thought “well okay, the Deatheaters actually have nothing to do here and they don’t even hurt anyone… -but if we let bella scream around and destroy some windows the audience won’t even notice.”

It means something good that this 3 hour film never felt long! But there were other scenes they could have left out in order to get more time at the end. They already spend a lot of time on the whole romance and comedy. What was the quittich so important for? They could at least have mae that shorter, or perhaps the whole burrial of the spider? What makes me sad is that now I really wish they had had two films to tell this books story. To be honest I don’t care all that much about Hallows getting all that screen time in two films, cause this book was so much meater in my opinion. As entertaining as all the romance was, they made that the main plot and only had just about enough of the rest to keep us going to the next film. I thought there had been made a lot of choices to cram everything in in a quicker way that did work! -but there was still a focus on the Halfblood Prince missing. When Snape tells Harry in the end that he is the Halfblood Prince you are kind of wondering how Snape knows that Harry had the book. Besides, not one scene of Snape teaching defence? -My heart is bleeding! I think there should have been simply more focus and gravety on the book and where it came from.
However I did think it was fairly nicely done to convey that Harry is somewhat dependend on the book and I have to say I quite liked how they choose Ginny to hide the book for him and turn it into the kiss scene for them. I find generally Ginny in the films is actually very different from Ginny in the books. In the films she seems a lot quieter and gentler and wise for her age. Oh course I would have loved to see Snape trying to find the book in Harry’s bag and all that, but personally I prefered that they had to get rid of the book because they realised it can cause harm and that Ginny helps him and that it becomes a scene about them, as supposed to Harry only hiding it because he does not want to be found out.

As to Lupin, I enjoyed his little scene! I agree it was not typical for his character but it made sense and gave the change of time some gravity.

  11. Clarissa

I loved it. I cried at the sectumsempra scene and Dumbledore’s death. And when Slughorn was talking about Lily.

I thought the Burrow scene was pointless, and that there was too much “humour” throughout the entire film. The scene where Ginny feeds Harry a pie was ridiculous, and when she bends down to tie his shoelace :/ Their kiss was stupid, too. It didn’t happen like that in the book, and it was just.. stupid.

I didn’t like how Snape didn’t look for the Potions book, either. He was meant to check Harry’s bag after the sectumsempra scene, but he just let Harry run off. I also didn’t like how Luna was the person to find Harry after Malfoy breaks his nose. Where was Tonks?

Also, the romance between Tonks and Lupin wasn’t even there. Sure, she called him ’sweetheart’ but that’s it. People who hadn’t read the books would have been like, what the fuck is going on? Also, the fight between the Order and the Death Eaters should have been there. Is the Director just going to completely ignore Bill and Fleur’s marriage? And Bill being bitten by Greyback?

Dumbledore’s funeral should have been included. The Burrow scene was stupid and didn’t contribute to the film at all. Dumbledore’s funeral was like.. closure. The ending was stupid, with Hermione talking about Ron being okay with Harry and Ginny when Dumbledore has just died. I thought it was a bit insensitive.

They should have had Harry using his cloak, too. Harry Potter would not have just stood there while Draco was pointing his wand at Dumbledore. They should have made that bit the same as the book and made Dumbledore immobolise Harry. Harry still didn’t trust Snape, so when Snape was like SHHH, Harry wouldn’t have listened to him.

I liked Ron and Lavender’s relationship, and how Hermione reacted. I thought it was really well done.

HP6 was made brilliant by the acting done by Tom Felton, Helena Bonham Carter and Rupert Grint.

  12. nathan

Harry potter 6 had more action than the fith one. The weard part Was I never seen Lunalovegood CRY.Luna was more weard in the 6 than the 5 But she was sometimes CUTE. the scary part freaked me out. But that movie was Exlent! Some sad parts.I enjoyed that movie and i might watch it again!

  13. nathan

Evanna Was toooo Sexy in the 6 and CUTE

  14. annoyedfan

    Clarissa you are completely right!!!

And one big thing they also seemed to screw up royally was the whole items that are horcruxes. Dumbledore in the book said they would not be ordinary items Dumbledore in the movie said they could be anything – WRONG – and by the way how is Harry supposed to have any clue as to what those objects are??? The movie never showed the cup and locket memory and Dumbledore claimed they could be anything, so what…Harry’s just supposed to wander around in the last movie looking for anything Voldemort had in his possession???

And the whole leaving out fleur and bill in the beginning and the battle at the end and adding that stupid burrow scene was just stupid! Are we never going to meet the older weasly brothers? What was the whole point of draco working THE ENTIRE movie to fix the cabinets if in the end they didn’t do the battle?? So what bellatrix broke a couple windows and some glasses in the main hall and set Hagrid’s apparently vacant hut on fire and then they just all ran off….stupid! And you wouldn’t even have known Fenrir was a werewolf if you hadn’t read the books too.

And hello! No one can apparate in hogwarts even if you are albus dumbledore!

  15. annoyedfan

    One more thing…

How do they expect Harry to remember the diadem for the last film when it was Ginny that hid the book in the room of requiremnt??? Totally messed that one up too!

  16. Ann

I have no clue how on earth they are going to have a wedding at the Burrow if it, um, burned down! I know they’re wizards but I doubt they can make a whole new house.
It was a GREAT movie, really funny, with a lot of action, but one thing that really bugged me is that Harry wasn’t Stunned, so he’s just standing there, just WATCHING Dumbledore getting killed. Can he not Stupify Draco or anything at all?? Anything! Anything at all! Just try, Harry, don’t just sit there and watch the show! That irritates me so much. We never found out who gave Katie Bell the cursed necklace either! (Rosmerta)
Or when Slughorn was talking about the flower petal that turned into a fish or whatever. I’m like ummm okey dokey then.

Other than that, I really did love it!

  17. poppy07

im sorry but this harry potter movie sucked they cut so much from it they focused to much on the romance between ron and lavender i thought the ending was gonna be really cool but i guess not since theres a big fight and all that

good thing i din’t see it in theaters cause that would have been a waste of money for me

  18. Andreas

I really liked the movie a lot and I think it is the best of all films (I did not like the fifth movie too much) even though I was a little disappointed by the HBP Book because it is just a bridge to TDH.

I think it is not fair to compare the film to the books since all the books are some hundred pages and you cannot put all this in one film and so you have to leave out a lot of things that are not really essential, like the Charlie stuff and Harry being jealous for weeks because of Ginny and Dean and all that.

I have always read the books immediately after they were published and I read them only once so that I dont remember them in enough detail (shame on me ;-) to miss a lot of things when I see the movie.

The movie was really funny what I liked a lot and the acting was partially just brilliant – in particular katie being cursed, loona being loony, tom riddle being spooky, hermione being jealous, affection between harry and ginny and last but not least – as always – snape being snape.

Imho the affection between Harry and Ginny was so convincing that the shoelace/pie things were just sweeeeeet, they might have been cheesy if you would not have been able to believe the affection between them but that was not the case.

As a non-native speaker, I have to concentrate to some extent to understand every word they say and so I quite liked it that Harry, Hermione, Ginny and Snape speak so “cleanly”. With this pronounciation, they could do an “english for beginners” video vourse ;-) .

  19. nathan

what I do not get is every Harry Potter movie has to have a dramatic part?i still Love Evanna Lynch as Luna Lovegood!

  20. nathan

PS I rather see the 6th movie At my House

  21. Manel

This Harry Potter movie was no doubt the funniest of them all and I’m glad they made those love scenes but how could they miss the fight in the end and instead, destroy The Burrow? It seemed like they had no idea of what would happen in Deathly Hallows, I mean where will be the wedding?BTW I’m not sure but did Harry notice they they had picked the false locket?

  22. troub

yes he noticed in the end :)
i waited until i can watch it on cinema /Bulgaria – 24.07 :) /. now, after i did it, i`m sure David is not My director :) The movie is good even excellent, but i think that all this “snogging” is coming too much. In the last movie there was only a kiss and we got that Harry and Cho are together. In the 6th one we are seeing a lot more, i personally don`t think that this is the most important in the story :? In my opinion very important is the relationship btw Harry and Snape.
All the battles were good, but the Big one missed. This big ending moment could be replaced by Dimledore`s death, but… i just couldn`t feel it. This is one of the saddest moments in all seven books, when a friend is dieing, a mentor, the Hope of magic world and i just could not feel it…
One of the best actors of all times – Alan Rickman, i love him. The scene “Yes, I am the Half-Blood prince” – WTF? I didn`t like it. :) I don`t know why :)
Generally the movie is pretty good, very David Yates style; Great actors; good script; amazing effects; It was very funny, this english humor :) – Love it; But Best of all – actors, amazing /i just don`t know the word i need :) , but perfect is a nice begin :D /.

P.S. Sorry for the wrong word order and tenses. :D

  23. saskia

I was soooooo disappointed – here in Australia they made us wait an extra 6 months past the original promised release date and then to see a film that left off so many important issues – the missing memories (I was so looking forward to seeing Merope, Marvalo and Morfine) The Dursleys got no mention and I was looking forward to Dumbledore telling Uncle and Aunt what he thought of them and the glasses smacking them on the side of the head.

As already mentioned by others – no Bill and Fluer so I guess the next film wont show the Wedding –

The rediculous unnecessary burning of the Burrows.

I would like to have seen the fight between Kreacher and Dobby (more fun than watching Harry chat up that girl in the cafe at the station which isn’t in the book)

No DA and yet towards the end of TDH – DA is very important.

Why tell us about the cabinett at the beginning it took away all the intrigue.

The Horcruxs were just glossed over.

and NO FUNERAL no closure all of them holding their wands pointing to the sky is supposed to stand for the part where Dumbledors body and the table upon which he is lying turns to stone – the mouring song of the phenix – no way not even close.

God they left out so many wonderful things I was devistated I was planning to watch this much awaited movie over and over at the cinema but could only mangage twice – I just got too anoyed each time they got it wrong.

Like some one else here said it is almost like they never read TDH and have no idea that this movie/story is a bridge for the next.

  24. Manel

You’re right, all the actors were great, mainly tom felton and rupert grint

  25. Meme

I was really excited for this movie and so glad that I wasn’t disappointed. This movie is probably tied as my favorite with TGoF. Now, I haven’t read the books, so I can’t compare it to them. (I am reading them now, however. This movie got me into them.) I really enjoyed the humor, the emotional scenes, and the action. I liked the end where Draco confronts Dumbledore, but I did think that after that, it got a tinsy bit slower, and I was going, okay, how’s this going to end?! But, it was awesome that an almost 3 hour movie seemed like nothing at all. Tom Felton, Daniel, Rupert, and Emma . . . Everyone did a superb acting job. Overall, great movie… coming from someone who can’t compare to the books.

  26. alonso

    Dont say crap!
This was the best movie ever of Harry Potter and the most romantic one, thats why I loved it!
    Pros:
    The Inferi Cave
    The Jealousy of Hermione
Alan Rickmans Amazing performance and Mc Gonagalls too
    The Oppugno spell
    The silly Harry/Ginny flirtation
The destruction of the Millenium Bridge!(No one died didnt they?)
    The amazing effects!
The marvelous Avada Kedavra!Shame you dont see it well!
Finally,i ABSOLUTELY LOVED Katie Bell being cursed by the opal necklace! It was so creepy and freaked me out and my little cousin was so scared he literally shitted himself!
    Cons:
The silly kiss of Ginny and Harry
    That Hermione didnt jinx Lavender
The Battle of Hogwarts not being shown
The crappy and stupid scene of Bellatrix destroying the Great Hall!I was like:”WHAT THE HELL?”
WELL I LOVED THE MOVIE AND I LOVED KATIE BELL CURSED!!!
Just dont take young children from 10 or younger or they will shit themsellves especially on the Katie Bell scene!!

  27. Nando

I personally believe that the movie was not well done. So many parts got left out such as the funeral in which I believe it was essential to the ending. Also the Harry/Ginny relationship, it was a bit dull. They didn’t show us enough of it and at the end it would seem that they remain together even when the actually don’t since Harry does not want her in any mortal danger. A combat scene b/w Death Eaters and Teachers/Students would have made the ending alot better and it would have given the Death Eaters a real reason to be there (notice that the Malfoy/Snape/Dumbledore scene could have taken place w/o the Death Eaters.) a fight could have spiced thing up in the end. Overall it was a good movie 3 hours seemed like nothing, actors did a great job playing their rolls cannot wait for the 2 parter Deathly Hollows!

  28. Kas.

I liked it and I also understand why they had to make changes, as books and miovies are two compleatly different mediums to work with (especially since the movies go out to the general public and not just half crazy, jumping out of the bathrom half naked to read the last book (ok maybe that last bit is just me) fans like the books go out to.

But I still wish they had the Quiditch Cup, The Battle for Hogwarts, and Dumbledore’s feuneral in the movie. Other than that I liked it…8/10 from me.

  30. Pansy Bellacastle

I always love the books n I’m totally a big fan of it!!!!!!!! And so as always, even if the movies aren’t as great, I enjoyed them. The Half-blood Prince was however, quite disappointing. But there are the great bits about this movie as well. The actors are great, especially Tom Felton who portrayed Draco. This character has a big change, not as bright, confident and being apparently hostile, but stress towards the mission makes him become neglectful towards other things and becomes a loner. This mission to kill Dumbledore affects him adversely. Also the scene in the end shows a better side of him. This big change perhaps is the reason why people start to notice him a lot and impressed by tom’s brilliant act. It’s great because he can really get our nerves n sympathy for him (I’m big fan of him obviously!!). The effects were great, especially the first bit of the death eaters strolling around and between the buildings was nerve racking, it’s like being them, flying around. However, as many of us have said, the plot is of coz not as good as the book. Also I think the bits where Ron and Lavender were together, it was quite cheesy. Hermione cried about Ron was out of her character as well (maybe it’s becoz we don’t know what she’s think) Nothing bad about the acting and all that, but It’s lack of facts when some of them are crucially important and connected to the final book. Some scenes that are added to it are out of place as well, like the fire scene in the Burrow, which many of us find pointless. It doesn’t makes any effect of reminding them the threat from the outside world (they think it’s lack of a sense of jeopardy) as J.K Rowling didn’t add these things into it is because she wants the it to be as mysterious and secretive as possible, to let harry thought nothing bad was gonna happen. Also trying to hide their plan, as if nothing horrible was gonna happen, to make the last part as shocking as possible. So, where are the Weasleys gonna live in DH? Are they gonna live there as if nothing have happened??? I don’t find this scene confusing but it’s simply out of place!!! Also the Malfoy’s plan of mending the vanishing cabin was not supposed to be showing out, people would be think that the whole film was about him doing that!!! I would rather see Harry noticing Malfoy was up to something and tried to trace him!!!! Let’s talk about the plots and scenes that I’m not happy with from the start. The scene at the café was ok but I don’t actually think it fits in. Where Dumbledore and Harry went to Slughorn, Harry didn’t actually remind Slughorn of the good things about Hogwarts, but he just randomly accepted the job. I have to mention it every time, this Dumbledore doesn’t suit to be him!!! I miss the one in the first n second chapter. I’m really frustrated about missing out Bill and Fleur and so it means they won’t show the wedding part (which is reli important) in DH!!! Also Bill being turned into a werewolf was cut off!!!(Main reason is becoz they missed out the battle at last, with the DA and Auror!!!) The part where Ginny, Hermione and Mrs. Weasley hated Fleur was full of humor!!! Malfoy wasn’t meant to be in Hogsmeade when Katie bell’s incident broke out; I hate it when it’s so cheesy, that if the one behind the plot was Malfoy then he had to be in the place where it happened!!! The main bits I wanna blown up and was most frustrated about are the memories and the Horcruxs bits. Dumbledore didn’t show harry about the Ravenclaw’s cup and so how is harry gonna know and find it in the Room of Requirement in the future!!! Also he didn’t show us about how Voldermont was born and that his ancestor is Salazar Slytherin!!! And that he killed his muggle father and grandparents, and jinxed his uncle, in order to get the Slytherin ring!!! Didn’t everyone think this is vital to this story??? Also they should have explain the reason of why nobody can stay no longer than 1 year for doing the teacher of Defense against the Dark Art, which Voldermont had cursed it after he couldn’t get his desire for being a teacher. Also I don’t particularly like the one who portrayed the older Tom Riddle!!! He wasn’t Tom-ish!!! The one in Chamber of secret is much more handsome as the book said and much Tom-ish!!!
Another thing, when Narcissa Malfoy went to look for Snape for help, Snape seemed to agree to help her at once. Narcissa should show more emotions towards the fact that his son could die in the mission, should cry pleadingly, desperately and Snape should be more reluctant as in the book. Also I wanna mention that Apparate and Dissaparate spell is a really important spell that takes you anywhere, which is a disappointment that they didn’t mention this interesting magic. Also if they could have added the tracing of Malfoy by Kreacher and Dobby, it would be much more entertaining, and also that is the vital reason how Harry finds out about Malfoy using the room of requirement and Crab, Goyle being transformed into different students for guarding, which the movie didn’t mention the house elf in the first place. They as well didn’t mention Harry meeting Professor Trelawney, where he got to know it was Snape who eavesdropped the prediction between Harry and Voldermont and informed him, and that’s why Voldermont has been chasing Harry for years, which as well is the origin of this story and still they CUT IT OFF!!! They might as well cut off the stupid Burrow fire scene (As some of us said) and leave space for the SLIGHTLY more interesting, important incidents that are connected to DH. They leave out the Dumbledore’s funeral bit which would be quite upsetting but create a more positive effect to show how great this wizard was (from how people react in the funeral), also to make a better ending, unlike this one which was very unsatisfying for the ones who want to know what’s going on after his death.
From my opinion, the producers are not big fans of HP because if they are, they won’t leave out so many amazing scenes that all of HP’s fans enjoy and think they’re important. As someone else said, I would rather the Half-blood prince splits into two sections and make it as heroic and great as possible rather than DH being split as there aren’t many scenes in DH. Frankly right now I really wanna be the director or producer of HPs, to fix this mess and let all fans satisfy and have a happy memory of it. Although I have so many complains about this ‘expected to be awesome’ movie, I still luv it. It sounds as if it makes quite no sense, but it does!!!! It’s simply due to the fact that I Luv and I’m totally a BIGGGG, mad die hard wacky fan of HP BOOKS, also LUVVV and MADDD about the visual world of the amazinggggg book, and finally, LUVVV the idea of magic.

Although i mentioned quite alot of unsatisflying stuff about the film, i’ve just realized this is the most natural film among the 6s. Many natural humor n smart scenes, more into people’s emotions
