Mischa Barton was recently asked by MTV News what she thought about an OC reunion.
Mischa played Marissa Cooper, who died in a car accident in season 3 when Ryan’s (Benjamin McKenzie, Southland) vehicle was pushed off the road by her jealous ex-boyfriend Kevin Volchok (Cam Gigandet, Twilight).
“I don’t think that any of us are looking to do an ‘O.C.’ reunion,” she told MTV News. “I mean not that I would be totally against it. But, I just don’t think that we’d be able to get one together. Like I don’t think we’d be able to get everyone back in there. But if we did it would be cool. It definitely would be really different.”
However, Marissa’s death would make it a little complicated to say the least:
“I think the main reason that I don’t see [a reunion] happening is Marisa’s dead,” Mischa said. “So unless she’s coming back as a ghost, which I’m totally down to do. I think she should come back as a zombie.”
Personally, I think she’s just joking around here, trying to keep everything on an upbeat note. I’m up for an OC reunion, but maybe if they did like “What if Marissa never died?”
Actually, a big-screen adaptation of the Original series would totally make sense.
she could be alive….because julie cooper is her mom( evil skeeming).

maybe they were able to get her breathing again. then Julie cooper made a fake funeral with a closed casket. sending marissa off to her dad on the yacht keeping her safe from vulchuk. marissa wanted to return but she found out that ryan move on with taylor. so when ryan and taylor are on there honeymoon they bump into marissa in like tahiti. the would be the best episode. Hopely josh shwartz sees this.
that would be an amazing episode! i wish the oc was still on, its completely my favorite show. yura you should really contact josh, or his manager warren zide and tell them your brilliant idea!
Been waiting for the OC to return since the day they Killed marissa just wasnt the same without her
The o.c is my favourite show and i can’t wait for the season to be out and i will be very happy if marissa cooper is featured in the movie and like ryan and marissa got married coz seth,summer,marissa and ryan are the people that am watching in that movie……please let there be season five.
I’m yet to see series 3 but from what I hear, its not as good with Marissa not around – understandable. I guess Rob Thomas had to spruce it up a bit and a death of a main character would seem a good idea but could you imagine having to choose which one? either way, it will suck. I would absolutely love for them to do a series 5. Maybe like, Marissa never died, but she ran away to somewhere else to make sure no-one knew apart from her mother (Julie Cooper) because something bad would happen if she did. So Seth, Summer & Ryan discover this news & go to look for her. I think that would be pretty cool!
