The first image of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman in David E. Kelly’s new NBC remake has been released. And all I can say is:
Oh, honey. No.
Wonder Woman has sort of been languishing in comic purgatory for a while; according to my brother, who is an expert on all things nerd (I’m not kidding– he’s getting his PhD in it), DC has continued to make her comic, which no reads, purely so they can hang onto the rights for her in the event of suddenly finding something awesome to do with her. Last summer, they attempted to update her design in an effort to make her appeal more to the modern reader:

While the new look didn’t exactly catch on– donning pants and some kind of cropped motorcycle jacket took the few people who still followed her by surprise, and everyone else just went “What…?”– this was probably a better idea than NBC’s. Hell, ANYTHING is better than NBC’s. I mean, really: Nailing someone’s breasts to their chest and smothering them in PVC? I think not.
Which do you think is better, readers?

NBC’s version looks like something I saw in a cheap costume shop once. But there was less lame plastic.
