The ladies on The View were quite upset over the fact that moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, was left out of the montage of former Oscar hosts at the 80th Academy Awards last night. They listed all of the reason why she was special and should have been included which, ultimately, brought Whoopi to tears and prompted her to get up and hug and kiss each of her co-hosts.
They are right!!! Whoopi should have been included.

Totally Agree. Oscar’s better issue a huge apology to Whoopi. That was a major oversight.

There is an element of society that has no “real life ” of heir own so just crawl out from under the rock in which live only to spew venom on different blogs. Like cmt who does not have her facts in order (Whoopi never supported Mike Vic, she merely stated that some cultures dog fight..she did not condone it. And like Brandon who sounds like some trailer trash redneck just here spewing racist venom. GET A LIFE!
It was a shameful snub. Though I don’t always agree with Whoop’s views or opinions I think she usually does an outstanding job at whatever she does whether its comedy, host, moderator, actress, etc. The fact that she hosted the Oscars 4 times proves the Academy must’ve thought highly of her skills and thus had a change of heart for some other reason. Being the 1st woman to host the event automatically qualified her for one the Oscars great moments in Oscar history. In snubbing her they failed to recognize one of their own greatest moments in history and thus demeaned themselves not Whoopi.

Whoopi’s defense of Michael “the puppy killer” Vick was that some cultures ingage in dogfighting, meaning African Americans in the South.
Not only was that offensive it’s pure BS, several of my co-workers are African-Americans and from the south and they were insulted by her remarks. They never particpated in such activities and they are not aware of any friends or family that live there that are. She should of kept her big mouth shut.
And as far as her being pissed that she was left out of the host segment at the Oscars on Sunday: They were the lowest Oscar broadcast in AGES!!! So nobody saw the snub anyway.
Whoopi’s a joke, and so is Penelope. CMT is right about Whoopi saying that about Vick–she basically said, “All brothers fight dogs,” without actually saying it. So what if they overlooked her. Just goes to show you that if women want to be noticed and appreciated, they need to keep their asses in the kitchen . . . . As for my boy Brandon, Keep it real homey! Fight the Power!
I am an African American from the South and I have never participated in dog fighting either but I can assure you dog fighting is alive and well in many places. As is cock fighting. It is a very nasty and well kept secret sport and has nothing to do with race whatsoever. If you are going to make a nasty comment about Whoopie at least get the facts straight and dont add your slant to the comment. She NEVER condoned what Michael Vic did or implied that African Americans in the South had a culture of dog fighting. (If she had said that I would have been insulted). As an animal lover I would have took offense at the comment if I too like you had taken her comment out of text. Perhabts you and Uncle Remus should get out more or explore outside whats going on before a making a comment on something you oviously know nothing about. Perhabts you both should read up on the underworld of dog fighting and try listening objectively before inserting foot in mouth. There are many sub-cultures and things going on many parts of the country and it is not always about race or ethnicity. If you some of teh things going on here in New York you’d two would would have a heart attack.Either be a part of the soulution or be quiet. Spewing venom is useless.

Whoopi defended/explained Vick’s actions by bringing up dogfighting in “cultures”, meaning that we should give him some slack because that’s what he was “exposed” to.
Michael Vick is sick IMO, she should have kept her mouth shut because obviously there was something else going on with him and he had nothing to do with him beiung from the South, being African-American nor being exposed to dogfighting.

My typing is terrible I admit, especially when I am multi-tasking but the facts remain the same. neither of you have a clue as what you are talking about in reference to dog fighting. Both of you need to venture outside of your own circles a bit. Pointing out my errors typed in haste does not negate that fact.
cmt You are way off track but I don’t have the time or inclination to explain the underworld of dogfighting to you. Whoopi’s position on the view is “Moderator” and she often expounds another side to a position to bait the girls into a discussion that makes for “entertainment” and increased ratings. Her pointing out that in many cultures dogfighting is a sport was in no way condoning the sport or excusing Vic…in fact she plainly said so, and even went so far as to explain it the following day for those of who took her comment out of context. The name of the show is “THE VIEW” if you have not noticed and its about different views. If everyone expressed the same view there would be no point in watching. If you “don’t get it” thats okay but to say Whoopi supported Vic is a stretch. You sound just as insensitive and tunnel visioned as Vic.
He deserves to pay for his cruelty…evil has no color, race , or ethnicity…..but then neither has ignorance…it lands wherever there is empty space…
please get rid of Whoopi (stupidest name ever) foerver. I race for the remote/power button as fast I can, even if I hurt myself to rid of her truly wortheless face/voice/appearance. She is a babbling idiot with nothing to contribute. What producer thinks she will bring in ratings? I for one can’t stand her or anything she has to say. There are SO many other interesting, intellectual people to listen too other than some washed up over-exposed nasty nappy headed actress that thinks people care whats she says and thinks. NOT.
