Who's Talking About 'Be Kind, Rewind'?

Who’s talking about Medium’s latest episode ‘Be Kind, Rewind’?

If you did not read the liveblogging post, here is your executive summary of Be Kind, Rewind:

Day 1: Allison wakes up on Friday to family strife at breakfast when Ariel does not want to go to school because of a bully. Her bad day continues when Devalos dismisses her input on a case. It get worse when the school calls and she has to go pick up Ariel because she is so terrified of the bully she has faked a stomach ache. The day come to a horrible end when Allison gets in a car accident on the way to the school, sees a body in the other car’s trunk before passing out, and wakes up in the hospital with no legs. Then she wakes up in her own bed, all body parts intact, and realizes it was just a horrible nightmare. As per usual.

Day 1-#2: Allison wakes up to the same family strife at breakfast and realizes she is reliving Friday all over again. She enlists Scanlon’s aid to catch the guy with the body in the trunk, but is foiled when he turns out to be a judge. The school calls to say Ariel has a black eye. Before Allison can go pick her up, Scanlon diverts to a restaurant robbery where they spot…the judge’s car! The gunman gets away by sending a masked hostage out the side door as a decoy, who of course gets shot, and escaping out the front door with the crush of other hostages, who he made also wear ski masks.

Day 1-#3: Allison heads off family breakfast strife by telling Ariel to get herself “a little bad ass.” She and Scanlon discover the judge who owns the car from her dream does not look even remotely like the guy from her dream so Scanlon takes her to lunch. The principal calls to say Ariel punched out another student. The restaurant gets robbed and Scanlon gets shot in the chest.

Day 1-#4: At breakfast, Allison tells Ariel to stay home from school. She calls the restaurant and finds out all judges in the county will be there at lunch to discuss court procedures. At work, she and Devalos figure out the gunman’s plan is to hold the judges hostage so the afternoon’s court proceedings have to be rescheduled. One of Devalos’ cases is time sensitive and the accused will go free if that happens. As the gunman rushes into the restaurant yelling that it is a robbery, Scanlon greets him with a cheery hello backed up by many police officers with guns.

I don’t know about you, but I liked it. Of course, I like them all. I do have a few peeves, which happen to coincide with Brett’s at TV Squad (see the link above.)

  1. If the body in the trunk was dead, and the gunman used the car to get to the restaurant, why did they let him get to the restaurant before they caught him? Doesn’t that mean they let him kill the judge to get his car to get to the restaurant? Maybe they just didn’t like that judge very much.
  2. Why didn’t Scanlon check the gunman’s pulse after he shot him to make sure he was dead or otherwise incapacitated before getting all casual and checking his ID, thereby opening the door for the bad guy to kick him across the room (because he had been wearing a bullet proof vest and was not, in fact, hurt) and then shoot him in the chest? Did Scanlon learn nothing at the police academy?
  3. What is UP with the driving scenes and the oh-so-fake looking scenery that is supposedly passing by? Is it the speed? Is it the lighting? I don’t know but it makes me crazy.
  4. And what is up with the camera jumping about? Someone mentioned this on the forums and now it makes me crazy. The weird thing is, I never noticed it until someone pointed it out.

So what did you think of Be Kind, Rewind?

to say the truth.. I loved it.. and with the car-crash,, I was just sitting on my bed watching it.. and I didn’t know it would happen so.. suddenly it was bamn! and it scared the hell out of me.. and after that when she lost her legs like: Omg! how could this have happend..
but of course it was all a dream.. and I wanted to laugh when I saw Allison saying to the girls like: Get a little bad-ass! and blablablaba..:P it was really TOO funny..:P

so this episode in one word: GREAT! :)

I know! I sorta wish the Ariel-as-badass-give-the-other-girl-a-black-eye day would’ve been a real day. ::sigh::
