That says so much about how much Lorelai cares for Luke. Plus, she officially acknowledges everyhting he's done for her and Rory over the past years, while it sometimes looked like she took it for granted. Christopher understands that. Sure Lorelai is in his life for now but he knows that Luke has been there so much for the two Gilmores that, in a way, he'll always be a part of their lives. However that was unfair to blame Lorelai. He pushed her after they slept together while he was perfectly aware that she still had strong feelings for Luke. I love the letter. That says so much about how much Lorelai cares for Luke. Plus, she officially acknowledges everyhting he’s done for her and Rory over the past years, while it sometimes looked like she took it for granted.

Chris has always known this, but seeing it in writing really slaps him in the face. Chris also is upset with himself for letting all those years go by without making an effort to really connect with the girls. Now, I think he sees it as too little, too late. He knows Lorelai loves Luke, he just hopes she can forget Luke and make a life with him. All these factors came together and caused Chris to flip out.
