Will Mischa Barton return to the OC? That is the biggest thing on the table right now. And, if she does return, will it be as a full-time actress, or only as a silly side role?
One source says that yes, Mischa will return, but that it’s kind of half-assed:
a source close to the show says Mischa will nevertheless return next season — as a ghost! "Right now she’s scheduled to come back in flashbacks and in ghost-type things," a show insider says.
Mischa, who reportedly wanted to quit The O.C. to concentrate on her film career, seems to like the ghostly compromise. "She’s been as sweet as pie to the producers since she read the script," the insider says.

Hia people… Im just wondering why are all you still yet crying and that marissa will come back to the show becasue she isnt the full season 4 is nearly all out and she isnt in she died. I were a big fan of marissa cooper she was my favorite, when i found out she was leaving i were crying all the time and sad i aint going to watch season 4. Season 4 i aint watched any of it and i dont want to becasue ryan-marissa thing is over and now its a ryan-taylor thing and that is just going to be so sad. Im just letting you know youll soon stop weeping over marissa saying shes dead becasue in real like she is still mischa barton and living her life not bothered what fans thing of the o.c. She was the one that dicided she wanted to quit and wasnt cuming her classes so really you should be blaming it on her. Well i cant be bothered going round all sites wishing marissa come back coz its not going ot happen so realli im just going to leave it and hope ill see her in something else in the future. I dont think Mischa is going to come back because she says she wants to do bigger things. But i thought the O.C. was pretty big. She probably wont read this, so i wont be able to change her mind, but The O.C. is nothing without Marissa (or Mischa). Even if she does read this she probably wont care about what one fan thinks. Personally i wish that Mischa would come back to the O.C. The O.C. is supposed to be about Marissa Seth Ryan and Summer. But now its just about how terrible everyones life is without her. Mischa, if you do read this, everyone would love you even more than we already do if you come back!!
