Will Nicole Richie Tweet for Pay?

Nicole Richie New YearsOnce news hit the internet that Kim Kardashian is paid $10,000 per sponsored Tweet, E! Online did some digging to see what other celebrities would tweet for cash. Ad.ly is a new company designed to do just that. They’ve compiled a list of celebrity Twitterers and their going rates.

Some of the celebs who have partnered with Ad.ly include Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Lo Bosworth, David Spade, Whitney Port, Lauren Conrad, Audrina Patridge, and Channing Tatum. A few celebs, like Samantha Ronson, have a “for charity only” specification, that it, she’ll only tweet for cash if the cash goes to charity. You can see the complete lists of celebrities who signed up here.

Don’t worry if you’re concerned celebs will fill your Twitter feed with unwanted secret ads. Thanks to new regulations, any tweet or blog post that was done for money must be specified as such. Therefore, if you see a tweet with (ad) at the end, it means it was sponsored.

I’m disappointed that Nicole and Joel weren’t two of the celebrities who agreed to tweet for charity. But I guess you need to make your money somewhere!

I read about that last month. I thought it was only Nicole though. Well to date, neither have tweeted for money…so we’ll see.
