Will Racist Momma Get Ryan Seacrest in Trouble?

momma's boysRyan Seacrest’s new show Momma’s Boys premieres tonight on NBC and I’ve seen one clip that has really raised some eyebrows (including my own).  On the show, three bachelors and their mothers are connected with 32 desperate hopeful women.

The mother of Jojo Bojanowski is already causing quite a stir.  In a clip from the show, Khalood Bojanowski, is shown describing the kind of women she doesn’t want for her son.  Shockingly, she goes on a racist tirade as if she’s calling out the grocery list!

In response to the controversy, Ryan said: “There were points where we just stopped everything and had to jump into the field and onto the set to calm everyone down. And to be frank with you, there are portions of this show that were highly controversial in terms of tone and intensity that we debated internally here to whether we should put them on the air…. Well, as producers, we certainly don’t want boring people.  I have to admit that at some points during this shoot, I was taken aback by the way (Bojanowski) said certain things.”

Is this new reality show all bad, then?  No, says Ryan.  “There are plenty of funny moments along the way,” he said. “There’s plenty of intense moments along the way. But it truly is – and it sounds corny to say it – but it truly is a loud love story.”

Interested?  Watch the racist mom’s tirade here:

The show’s first episode airs tonight on NBC at 10pm EST.

I have met Ryan Seacrest, attended his daytime show when it was on, and enjoyed him on AI when I used to watch AI. I like him and have a lot of respect for him.

However, he and his producers have gone over the line by allowing a woman like this on this show, especially given the new optimistic climate this country is adopting in light of our new, wonderful PE Barack Obama.

I will NOT watch this show! This kind of a contestant is an insult and a slap in the face to all people of color in this country!

Not only did she make her racist rant. She got her way. What message are you trying to send. I watched one episode and will never watch another.
