Apparently Tom Cruise isn’t able to convert all his friends to Scientology. This one got away:

The ‘I Am Legend’ star and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith were introduced to the bizarre sci-fi cult by friend Tom Cruise, but Will has chosen not to become a follower.

1) Christianity and Scientology are not that close. As a Christian, we don’t cut off family or friends who believe differently than we do or who don’t tell we are great all the time. Also, we believe in serving and loving everyone.
From what I read about Scientology, they are not very acceptng of those who differ to them to the point of cutting them off completely if they don’t agree with you or say positive things about you all the time.
Also, the alien thing, which is the majority of their religion, is NOT any where near Christian. I have a feeling Smith is trying to be the bigger person than Cruise and trying to show that Scienos. are just like you and me, but it is not true.
2) I guess I will say the conspiracy theory since I know someone else will: Maybe Smith is playing the denial game and is secretly a Sciento, and is hiding because he will be boycotted as well. Maybe they don’t want Smith outed like Cruise was.
I guess now we know why Jada said what she did about Cruise and Holmes last Spring: Fellow Scientos. defending the Tomkat silliness.
Jada has now been outed as well and I guess that makes her “Kate is a tigress” remark just bunk!!

Do you think this all part of their plan to appeal to the common American (“We are just like you.” I read somewhere they have a production company producing commercials to that effect.)? Do you think Smith is now their spokeman since Cruise is a raving nut and is being alienated in Hollywood?
I wonder if they want Smith to stay in the closet and not be outed like Cruise was so he could work subversely. I mean, many ignore Cruise after his bizarre behavior and his relationship with KH hasn’t helped that image. At least, Smith is in a stable, married relationship that is believable to the average person.
I don’t know what the deal is. Smith is adored and well respected in the business, I do know that. He was a client when I worked in entertainment law and he was seriously the nicest guy ever.

I was impressed two years ago when Philadelphia was having its highest murder rate ever, that he took the time and walked down one of the dangerous streets to just say “knock it off”.
I liked what he said recently about how he is not a good actor, he just works hard.
One of his flaws: He just has bad taste in friends (i.e. Cruise and clan).

On the other hand I just have to say I’m very proud to be a Jolie-Pitt fan.
I confess I don’t go see their movies because thats not what makes me a fan of these two. It’s their constant hard work to make positive changes ALL over the world. And it’s sweet to see how NORMAL they are with their children.

i’d like to know how will smith came up with that 98% similarity figure because i think there are massive discrepancies between christianity and scientology. belief in the God (Yahweh) and no aliens vs. aliens; christ, st. paul vs. ron hubbard.
as for jolie-pitts, it’s hard not to respect them for what they do, their humanitarian goodworks and their style of parenting.
when they are snapped by paparazzi with their children, they are actually DOING things besides posing and smiling i.e. buying toys, taking them to museums, buying art supplies… so far as i know, the jolie-pitts haven’t been snapped shopping for the kids’ clothes at armani boutiques and there’s no mention that they wear louboutin shoes. the jolie-pitts have respectable priorities, it seems.
and even though their movies might not appeal to everyone, it’s hard to deny that they are talented at what they do. katie holmes doesn’t even compare to jolie on a talent basis. and i’m wondering, how the heck was katie holmes ever a model? isn’t posture sortof essential???????? i guess it depends on the type of modelling though.
and in my opinion, a good parent does not ignore the adopted children like the cruises once a bio child comes along. pitt and jolie seem to try to divide their time equally with ALL of their children.

the most adorable thing I saw was maddoxs old tee-shirt on…….zahara I think it was! they share their Old Navy looking clothes! Totally normal family. No parading around an empty field with your infant in a Burberry dress for them. When the paps get pics of the J-P’s with their kids at a park they are………..PLAYING WITH THEM!!! WHAT a concept!!!

They were very well aware of the fact that Shiloh was the most anticipated celebrity birth in a long time, and they very well could have taken a revolting cue from these other two and paraded her around on shopping trips almost daily for photo ops while leaving their adopted children at home….but they didn’t and NEVER would because they’re loving, responsible , NORMAL parents!!!!
I am not exactly a fan of Jolie-Pitt. I have problems with the fact that they hooked while Brad was still married, but their charity work is admirable.
KH will never compare, no matter how many kids she adopts to be like them because her and TC are not believable as a couple and she is too insecure with herself.
Angie is truly happy–you can see it in her eyes. I think KH misses where that true happiness comes from…giving of oneself and time. (It is amazing, that every time there are pics of KH shopping or fluffing around with Cruise on vacation, there are pics right beside them of Pitt and Jolie do some kind of charity event or project.) Also, Angie isn’t fake. She doesn’t copy others or try to dwarf herself to highlight her husband. She doesn’t have to match her look to Pitt and her daughter.
To show how much Pitt-Jolie care about each other: When Angie had her premiere for BEowolf, Pitt came, but he stayed out of the cameras. KH couldn’t even run a marathon without TC sticking himself and PR girl in the limelight.

sorry guys. just one last comment on the jolie-pitts. i can understand why people might have some issues with the way they hooked up while brad was married to jennifer aniston — if they did. i don’t know the details of their relationship. but obviously, brad made a choice somewhere, sometime and opted to leave jen for angie. all you jolie haters, you can’t steal a man who doesn’t wish to be stolen!

I do admire the joliepitts more- I don’t really follow them- I follow TC/KH because she is from “the neighborhood”- you know, “small hometown girl makes it big”. The only problem is we thought she would make her success through hard work- not by marrying it!! But…..a couple of people here have said that the few times she has been back- she gave a couple of old friends an icy glare when they waved, approached and said “Hi Katie- remember us..etc” ….

I have been reading this page for ages and you guys just crack me up. the comments are far more interesting than most of the posts. WTF were with those sleeves in the daily mail spread? I finally signed up here cause Daily Mail never prints my comments. But it looks like TC didn’t want to splurge on KH and buy her actual, proper ski clothes, so she borrowed them from Olive Oyl instead. And her smiles in the photos are totally fake – i know, i look at my high school photos and they all feature a similar cheesy (fake) grin.

Did you read the article about the media W h o r e s in London: They had PR girl out and Cruise was introducing his family (note: adopteds not included) to everyone they saw and when they saw a pap, they invited him along to photograph them!!! What other celeb does that?????? Can we all say trying too hard.
Is Cruise trying to buy/bribe Aramani and his niece to give KH her own clothing line? (Again, even Posh did not have to buy the designer when she did her photo shoot this past fall!! I doubt even Cruise had to buy Nicole’s perfume scent for her.) That is all I can think of with all the photo shoots at their stores and skiing trips of them together.
Toledo: I did read it. KH’s vanity and true colors are finally coming out. It’s sad that she is ashamed of her own family that she has to dress them for her wedding. I wonder if she dresses when they visit too because she is embarrassed by them. (Notice they weren’t photographed in New York when KH ran the marathon, yet they were supposedly there. We certainly saw Cruise’s mommy there.)

I never said I hated them. I just said I had problems with it and to then flaunt it in the media was a bit tactless on both of their parts.
I do admire them for helping those kids they have as well as for their charity work. I admire them because when they do go to orphanages, they play with all the kids and leave gifts for all the children.
They also don’t have to wear designer clothes or have to be photographed flaunting their wealth in expensive vacations or stores, like the Cruises do. They have their toys like the Cruises, but it is not flaunted. That is why TC and KH will never come close to these two. Also, compared to Pitt and Jolie, Cruise and Holmes are trying too hard to pass off the family thing…and its obvious!!!
I’m going to believe AJ’s own words……that because her father cheated on her mother and it ripped the family apart, that she would never be with a married man. It’s obvious they had a great time making MMS and really hit it off. I think when he saw what a loving devoted mother she was with Mad, his heart probably broke because he’s always wanted to be a father……so he went home and realized his meaningless life with Jen had to come to an end!!!
As far as kh running away from old friends and neighbors…….she HAS to…..you can’t FAKE a happy life and real marriage to REAL people, they’re gonna see right through that. Hollywood is fake………it’s no effort for her there

The camera man says in the daily news article that Cruise and Holmes stopped him and posed for the pic and then invited him to follow them around and photograph them. They sought the camera man ought. Just like Cruise was going around that Christmas thing and introducing Suri to everyone!! The child exploiters (KH and TC) can’t stand not having attention from cameras for PR girl.
