I swear to you, there is not a day that goes by without my seeing something about how Christina Aguilera is ripping off Lady Gaga. Can’t these people put it to rest? Currently, X17Online is stating that Christina “stole” Lady Gaga’s leotard look when she performed at Perez Hilton’s birthday party.
Uh? Lady Gaga has been around on the mainstream scene for a fairly short time. Meanwhile, Christina wore a leotard back when she did her Back to Basics tour. It’s not exactly a new look for her. And the hair color and style is becoming something akin to the proverbial beating a dead horse at this point. Neither one of them is the first person to ever have platinum blond hair. It’s not exactly avant-garde so I don’t think we need to accuse either of them of copying the other.
I think that Christina Aguilera is successful enough in her own right that she doesn’t need to copy anyone and she is very comfortable in her own image without needing to borrow someone else’s look. Meanwhile, although I don’t care for Lady Gaga myself, I do respect that she’s very popular with her own strong following and I don’t think she’s necessarily tailgating on Christina’s style either.
Can’t people enjoy an artist without tearing another one down? Let’s let it go, Christina Aguilera is her own woman, not just some sort of Gaga-clone!

I agree with you 100%. The media is so stupid, and Christina has been around for so much longer.

sfdsdf – Oh please. Christina doesn’t need to “rip off” Lady Gaga of all people. Christina has a powerhouse voice and her own style. She’s been on the scene for a hell of a lot longer than Gaga has and was already a star back when people still only knew Gaga as Stefani.
If Lady Gaga can have the longevity career-wise that Christina has so far then she’ll be very lucky.
