According to FOX News, there is a sequel to the hugely popular children’s movie Madagascar in the works as we speak. It just so happens to be one of Bernie Mac’s last projects before his untimely death.
His voice is featured in the movie as the father of Ben Stiller’s character, Alex the lion. Will.I.Am is also a part of this project as a composer. He is working with Hans Zimmer to come up with original music for the flick. It must be awfully hard to finish up this project without Bernie.
“He brought so much heart and soul,” Jeffrey Katzenberg, head of DreamWorks Animation SKG, told The Associated Press on Wednesday after previewing footage from the film for reporters.
“It’s just so hard, because we’re still living with it every day, we’re working with his creative contribution,” Katzenberg told AP. “As we stand here today, there are animators who are animating.”
What a great loss for everyone. Bernie Mac was such a comic wonder!
