The Disney Channel has finally announced the premiere date for “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” – August 28th!
Manhattan’s magical wizard siblings Alex, Justin and Max Russo accompany their parents on a Caribbean vacation where Alex’s inadvertent magic spell makes it so her parents have never met. When they learn the only thing that will reverse the spell is the magical Stone of Dreams, they embark on a quest through the jungle to find it, with time running out to save their family.
You can catch “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” on the Disney Channel Friday, August 28th @ 8 pm ET/PT.
In celebration of the movie, DisneyChannel.com will present an exciting two-part game “Journey to the Cave of Darkness” and “Quest for the Stone of Dreams”. You can upload your own photo to become part of the Russo family snapshot, as well as explore and collect hidden objects, which will unlock bonus behind-the-scenes footage from the movie.
In the week leading up to the movie premiere, Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin and Jennifer Stone will introduce their favorite “Wizards of Waverly Place” episodes in a “Wand Picked Wizards” programming event. All 16 episodes will air Friday, August 28.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 25
Jake T. Austin presents his picks for the Top 4 episodes (6:00-8:00 p.m.) on Disney Channel.
Exclusive preview of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” will be available via Disney Channel on Demand through Time Warner Cable, Cablevision and Verizon FiOS, as well as RCN, Blueridge, Wide Open West, Comspan, Knology/PrairieWave and Ntelos affiliates.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26
Jennifer Stone hosts her favorite episodes (6:00-8:00 p.m.)
THURSDAY, AUGUST 27
David Henrie presents his Top 4 favorite episodes (6:00-8:00 p.m.)
FRIDAY, AUGUST 28
Marathon of all 16 ‘Wand-Picked’ episodes (12:00 noon-8:00 p.m.) followed by the premiere of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” (8:00 p.m.) on Disney Channel, with simulcasts on Sprint TV and MobiTV. The evening will be hosted by Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin and Jennifer Stone
SATURDAY, AUGUST 29
Encore presentation of “Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie” on Disney Channel, featuring behind-the-scenes coverage of how the movie’s special effects were created.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 30
Second encore presentation of the movie (8:00 p.m.) hosted by the cast, who will also provide a sneak peek of upcoming “Wizards of Waverly Place” stories.

Can’t wait for the ‘exclusive premiere’ of the movie on August 25th on Disney on Demand through cablevision. Does anyone know what time it will be available? We live on the East Coast and are trying to plan a party around the preview.
