Upon discovering that an old friend had contracted HIV after getting caught up in the crystal meth scene: "I was heartbroken and pissed because it was 2006 and he's a smart guy and he knows the deal and we all know the facts, and the fact of the matter is, this could happen to someone who knows what's going on.
"...My experience with my friend's letter really lit a fire in me and I wanted to do something proactive. I didn't just want to think and wish and hope and pray and wring my hands and not actively do something.
"...I wanted to work for someone who truly believes that in our lifetime we're gonna find a cure for this. I believe that as sure as I'm sitting here, we'll find a vaccine."

"But there was a fear that [adopted daughter Zahara] had HIV. And the upsetting thing that I was sat down and it was explained to me that don't worry, because in this country, it's not a death sentence. Which is also saying to me, because she's not in an area where she's poor, now she can live because she's not in an area where she can't access medicine. You know, it's such a -- it's such a king of horrible thing to hear."

Remember when Game tried to out 50 Cent on Twitter? That whole mishigas started because TMZ posted the video of Game talking about the problem with closeted gay men:
"The number one issue with that is you could be fooling somebody and you could give them AIDS and they can die... and that shit spreads because that girl you might be fooling might leave you and go find another dude who ain't gay and give him the disease."

"I tell you, it's funny because the only time I think about HIV is when I have to take my medicine twice a day."

"I want to make it fashionable to have safe sex. You must be safe. You can have sex with hundreds of people with a condom on and get nothing. If you have sex without one, then you could get all sorts of problems."

"For a time I was conflicted by how I was represented, and then AIDS came, and that’s an era that has still to be spoken about in depth by people of my age. It was a very difficult time to be honest and frank about one’s sexuality. And a very scary time for people like myself, who were not able to be tested anonymously without some concern. I mean, under Reagan, lest we forget, there was a time when they were talking about internment camps for people who were HIV positive. To this day I can’t give blood to the Red Cross because I have sex with a man."

"It's so big in the black community with women because they're having unprotected sex with men who have been having unprotected sex with men."

“Hétero não pega aids. Digo isso porque eu conversei com médicos e eles me disseram isso. Um homem transmite para outro homem, mas uma mulher não passa para o homem.”
I can't find an exact English translation, but many outlets agree on this paraphrasing: "Men cannot contract HIV from HIV-positive women because HIV is only passed from man to man."

"I have friends of mine who have died of AIDS and many of those friends…did not tell me until the very end...because they felt that there was a stigma, a taboo, attached to it…now we have more women infected with HIV/AIDS, many of those women were infected by their husbands who did not tell them."

"And, it’s interesting that we just had a meeting in the office and it was brought up about, and its funny that I brought up in a song about, you know the government administers AIDS. I think the figure I learned when I was at Live 8 was that there was over 6,000 people in Africa dying everyday from AIDS.
But, I said the government administers the AIDS.
This is the whole thing. If you’ve got something that you want to get to, and there’s a people that are strong people, a people that are warriors, in order to get to their resources you’ve got to weaken them. What else has the strongest people you know in more of a fetal position than the AIDS epidemic?
And, then you hear about this. I say in another song, I said, you know the best medicine goes to people that’s paid. If Magic Johnson got a cure for AIDS and all the broke mothers passed away. So that means a cure for AIDS. So who has a cure?
Maybe the same people that administer it that want to get to the diamonds."

"Because at that moment I became the worst scourge on God's green earth, a rock star with a cause. Christ! Except it isn't the cause. Seven thousand Africans dying every day of preventable, treatable disease like AIDS? That's not a cause, that's an emergency."

Lady Gaga Best??? Really??? Condoms arent 100% safe. Not because u use them doesnt mean there is no chance for u to get either STDs or pregnant! It should be on the dumb side of the quotes, promiscuity increases your chance of having any type of STDs, including AIDS and hepatitis!!
No, it’s not 100% safe. But it is a heck of a lot safer than NOT using a condom. She’s advocating that people be smart about the choices they make; how is that on the dumb side?
It is dumb because she is also advocating for people to sleep with lots of others! Its great shes talking about condoms, but the more people you sleep with, the greater the probability of acquiring an STD…
