Your Mama Don't Dance: Season Premiere

shows-danc-621x147-main.jpg

This week was the season premiere of the new dance show, Your Mama Don’t Dance. I have to say that I really like this show! It’s a whole new twist on the Dancing With the Stars theme, since none of them are professionals and none of them are celebrities, but other than that, it’s got a lot of the same dynamics to it.

This week, we got to see the fathers & daughters perform contemporary routines, next week, it will be the mothers and sons. Personality-wise, I loved all the pairs! They did a great job of casting wonderful people for the show, because after learning about them and seeing them perform, I don’t really want to see any of them have to leave. However, here’s how the judges scored them:

  • Noelle & Doug – Average judges’ score: 84.7 points
  • Brooke & Eric – Average judges’ score: 84.2 points
  • Heather & Stephen – Average judges’ score: 73.7 points
  • Celia & Silvano – Average judges’ score: 83.3 points
  • Nicole & Michael – Average judges’ score: 90.7 points

That means that the bottom two teams, Celia & Silvano and Heather & Stephen are in what they call the “drop zone.” That means that America will choose which team to send home. I especially loved Ben Vereen as a judge. He was so positive and supportive of them all and I’ve always loved him as a performer anyway. He’s a great choice! Here are some great clips of the season premiere:

I really liked the show, the father/daughter couples all had good connections and were fun to watch even though I much prefer ballroom to contempory.

I liked Heather the best, but my gf and the judges hated her…
