While in Australia this past week for the premiere of his newest movie, 17 Again, Zac Efron has had a number of interviews with the Australian press. In a recent one he talks about playing the lead role in a live-action Jonny Quest movie, based on the popular cartoon.
Zac says, “Yeah, Yeah… it’s a great idea; it’d be very fun.” He’s quick to point out, though, that it’ll probably take a while and is “mostly definitely” a few years off:
“It’s a long, long process. It’s so hard when people start leaking tidbits. They’re very, very early on [with it] – not that it won’t happen, it’s just early. People legitimately said to me today, ‘So Footloose is coming out, right?’ I’m like ‘No. The script is coming out’.”
Jonny Quest, a popular cartoon from the 60′s, is about a young boy who accompanies his father on extraordinary adventures. Concerned that Jonny could end up in the wrong hands, Race Bannon, a special agent/bodyguard from Intelligence One Government is hired to guard and train him. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s name has been tossed around for the part of Race Bannon.
