The other woman in question is tattoo model Michelle “Bombshell” McGhee (yes, we laughed at that, too) who told the tab that she had a “an 11-month affair, including five weeks of sex,” although we’re not really sure what an affair would include if not sex. So, five weeks of sex and 39 weeks of talking?

Bombshell, who has posted photos on her Web site (which is currently down, porbbaly due to traffic overload), said she would have never hooked up with Jesse if she knew he was still with Sandra. (Hello, pick up a People.) “He gave me the impression they were separated,” she told InTouch.

More disturbing details:

“For weeks, while Sandra was in Atlanta shooting The Blind Side, Michelle had sex at least once a week with the Monster Garage star. Far from a one-night stand, his relationship with Michelle was intimate and highly charged. Michelle even says she called Jesse, who didn’t wear underwear or condoms, by a special pet name, Vanilla Gorilla, because he was so ‘well-endowed.’”

Doesn’t wear condoms? Looks like the paparazzi should start hanging out by Sandra’s gynecologist because she might need an STD test. And adding more fuel to the rumor fire, Sandra has pulled out of the London premiere of The Blind Side in light of the scandal.

The fact that a 24-year-old woman is taking birth control as preventative measure to avoid having a kid she’s not prepared for (among the myriad of other reasons birth control can be prescribed for) should not be scandalous in any way. Plus, you’ve gotta take those suckers at the same time every day, regardless of if that time occurs during an interview with a national magazine.

Or are people reacting to the fact that Amanda took an antidepressant? I do realize not everyone is as open as my family about mental illness and the corresponding drugs they’re treated with, but I would think that by 2010, people would at least have come to terms with the fact that depression and anxiety are true, clinical problems that occasionally need to be treated with drugs.

(I don’t even want to get into the whole over-prescription/misdiagnosis problem in America — which I believe does exist, see Corey Haim or Brittany Murphy for sad, recent examples — I am only referring to the responsible, legitimate usage of prescription drugs to treat real problems.)

When I read Amanda’s interview, the part where she took her pills didn’t even register as weird to me. It seemed so completely normal that I was taken by surprise when I read the Jezebel post. I have no problem with taking prescription drugs in public — I was recently stricken with a persistent case of strep throat, and had to take antibiotics with my meals three times a day for over a month. What was I going to do, head to the bathroom and swallow my pill? That would’ve made it seem so illicit.

Were you shocked that Amanda was so open about taking her prescription drugs in public? Is that something you would’ve done?

Tom: Can you tell me a little about your background for our readers?

Rachel: I was born and brought up in a town called Leighton Buzzard, in Bedfordshire, U.K., which is about 30 miles north of London. I can’t really say that one particular thing led me to illustration, I knew from a young age I wanted to make and draw things, which is what I spent most of my childhood doing.

Tom: What kind of things inspire you to create and where do you look for them?

Rachel: I get inspired by everything and anything. Often in the middle of the night, annoyingly. The most interesting things to me are when I find the extraordinary in the mundane, the little things in life that make you stop and question the way things are. Words are infinitely inspiring to me; quotes, lyrics, letterforms, signage, and strange spelling mistakes.

My main source of inspiration is the Internet, definitely. I read a lot of magazines and books, both fiction and not, but I just get astounded by the amount of talent and information that’s out there on the Internet. Other people; their work, or even just their work ethic inspires me.

Tom: What is your process like when you are creating something? Your work looks very hands on. Do you start with a complete picture in your head or does it grow more organically/unpredictably?

My process can sometimes vary but generally, when I have an idea for a project or for an illustration, I can usually visualize it in my head straight away, or at least the gist of it. It’s the method and media that is always in flux; I start all of my illustrations off with hand rendered elements of some description, and then build it in Photoshop or illustrator. I’d definitely describe it as hands on, and I always prefer to have something physical at the end of it.

I don’t like working solely in digital form, things feel distant and sterile to me. When it’s on the Mac that’s when the most changes happen to my images and I can go off on tangents or end up with something that’s close to how I envisaged it. Sometimes I prefer it when things grow unpredictably as you can end up with something better than what you’d thought, but I also like to be in control of my work and not let things run away with me. Especially when you’ve got deadlines.
