The Daily WTF: Axe Introduces Anarchy, Body Spray For Women

Bear in mind that we didn’t ask for this.

Never has a woman watched an Axe commercial and thought, “Gee, I’d just love it if men felt compelled to rip off their clothing and chase me down!” Unlike the oh-so-amusing ads where hordes of Amazonian women converge on a single lucky fella, the reverse sounds a little bit like rape.

But Axe has still felt compelled to offer this mystical spray to the other half of the population, with a confusing ad meant to arouse interest in Anarchy, the new scent (and I use that term very loosely) for women.

The commercial doesn’t even make that much sense. Are the guy and girl coming from separate situations where they’ve been chased by adoring fans and had to disrobe so as to run faster? Or is it a Harry-Voldemort thing where their two Axe sprays face off against each other and it’s just a sea of pheromones?

Regardless, it’s not the only way they’re promoting the spray: Tomorrow Axe will launch an interactive graphic novel via its Facebook page, starring the “Anarchy Girls”:

The most ironic part is, a lot of the women I know just wear the men’s deodorant.
