Being Crafty: Homemade Holiday Gifts That Don’t Suck

In the 12 days leading up to December 25th, we’re rolling out a series of “Oh Shit It’s Christmas” features.
We’ve talked a bunch about what to do if you don’t have any time to buy presents for the holidays. But understandably for most of us, it’s not time that’s the issue, it’s money. After all, with enough scratch you can have most anything sent to you on next-day delivery. Considering that none of us here at Crushable are billionaires yet (fingers’ crossed!), we’ve created a gift guide of presents you can make yourself that don’t suck half as much as the term “homemade present” would imply. Enjoy!

Chocolates
My mom used to make tons of chocolates for my teachers during the holidays and it was really hard not to go eat what amounted to an entire freezer of the treats. They’re a little time-consuming and require some trips to get baker’s chocolate (not the sweet stuff) and some of the goodies you’ll want inside (coconut, peppermint), but it’s totally worth it. Here are three really great, easy recipes. Remember, “tasting” is different then “sticking your whole hand in chocolate.”
Coconut chocolate Haystacks (Substitute white chocolate in the recipe…trust us, it’s better)
Peppermint Bark
Angel Food Chocolate (A little harder, but worth the effort!)

Our Patented Candy Vodka
Takes about an hour to make, and if you put it in decorative bottles it will look like a deliciously drunk rainbow. For your boozehound buddy.
