Crushable Books: ‘Whoogles’

Can I tell you something? The second line to this book is called “Can a Dog Make a Woman Pregnant?’ …and Hundreds of Other Searches That Make You Ask ‘Who Would Google That?’” but I thought that would be too long to fit into the actual headline. This book, written by Kendall Almerico and Tess Hottenroth, is the written equivalent of Yahoo Questions, or, for a better example “Do Glue Get You High?”

The conceit is simple:
The authors typed a couple words into Google and then saw the most ridiculous answers, took screenshots of them, and made them into a book. Put “Do Christians” into Google search and you will see the most popular searches for the term, one of which is “Do Christians believe in Dinosaurs?”

“Why is ma” becomes “Why is a man whole cover round?”

And of course, “How is babb” becomes “How is babby formed?”

The last is a giveaway, because “How is babby formed” is already a popular meme, so of course it would be high up on the Google search list. The rest of queries are occasionally funny, but nothing that I couldn’t find a normal Google search of “weird Google search terms.” Or on the Whoogle website. Which makes me actually ask, “Who would write a book on who would Google that?” Or maybe “Why didn’t I think to publish that?”
