Yes, the “Shit Girls Say” meme is starting to get really tired, what with the variously offensive drunk/fat/racially-stereotyped responses that have cropped up in the last few weeks. But when the video is actually calling out the other people who make easy jokes, then we have to put it in the positive column.
Nicola Foti is friends with Franchesca Ramsey – creator of the howlingly funny “Shit White Girls Say… to Black Girls” video — and he’s similarly struck gold with his gently critical “Shit Girls Say… to Gay Guys.” Like Franchesca, who had no “costume” aside from a blonde wig, he makes no attempt to hide that he’s a guy; it adds a layer of hilarity that it’s an unshaven Nicola having this conversation with his “gay boyfriend.”
I think we’ve all been guilty of at least one of these:
“We are so gonna get drunk and make out.”
“So there’s this gay guy at the salon I go to… He’s 53, with salt-and-pepper hair.”
“So am I your fag hag?”
“You’re, like, practically a girl.”
“No offense, but are you gay?”
“You’re gay, you’re supposed to know these things!”
