Teenage Boy Combines Two Internet Memes in Rebecca Black Tattoo

As much as we at Crushable love Rebecca Black and the “Friday” phenomenon, the poor girl gets a lot of flak for her majorly Auto-Tuned song and sudden fame. But who will stand up for this poor, harassed 13-year-old? Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… a kid with a Rebecca Black tattoo?

Bryan Ellis, a 19-year-old from Texas, got so fed up with Internet commenters making fun of Black that he went to a tattoo parlor and had the words “Leave Rebecca Black Alone” etched into his right forearm. Ouch! We have to give Ellis props for referencing the immortal words of YouTube celebrity Chris Crocker: “Leave Britney alone!” was what Crocker cried, mascara dripping, in a now-famous video that has made it into meme history.

Response has been, understandably, mixed. It’s likely that Ellis has gained some respect, since people know he’ll stand up for what he believes in. But mostly, he says, “They also think that I should go kill myself. They think it’s retarded. They think I should cut my arm off and try to sell it.”

Gulp. Maybe if Justin Bieber had signed that arm. Ellis plans to continue defending Black, especially overĀ  YouTube. “All I want people to know,” he says, “is that she deserves a little more respect for trying.” You’ve got to admit that’s sweet.

But what does the “F” mean? Could it stand for “Friday”? Fun? The expletive this poor kid shouted out while getting a tattoo?
