The Daily WTF: Man Murders His Wife After She Destroys His Star Wars Collection

A good collection takes years and years to build. Personally, I know I would have been real mad if someone destroyed my childhood stamp collection. So mad that I probably would have yelled for a minute and maybe slammed a door or two. But, honestly, probably not any more mad than that, because, you know, I’m not insane.  On the flip side, a man named Rickie La-Touch (that one’s free, Paul Thomas Anderson) had been convicted of smothering his wife to death with a pillow because she destroyed his collection of Star Wars memorabilia.

Evidently, Rickie’s wife destroyed a couple Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader toys that were worth thousands of pounds. So, you know, at least there was a perfectly rational and adult reason for the murder. Rickie has been sentenced to life in prison, with the minimum requirement of serving 12 years.

I hope his Yoda toys remain intact.
