Although Prince William and Kate Middleton (aka the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) just got married a week ago, they have already become parents. Adoptive parents, that is. To a baby penguin.
The Chester Zoo in England ‘gave’ the couple an endangered baby penguin as a wedding gift. The penguin’s name is Acorn, a nod to Kate’s family – she chose the acorn as one of the symbols to be included in the newly-created Middleton crest, and she wore acorn earrings at her wedding. Acorn won’t live in the palace, though – he’ll stay with his other animal friends at the zoo. Still, I’m sure it won’t be a problem for Kate and William to visit Acorn whenever they want.
Question: can an animal be next in line for the British throne?
