Readers Respond: 14 Is Too Young To Have Sex

Yesterday, we found out from Khloe Kardashian that she gave up her v-card at 14 and regrets it. Not only that, she thinks that the age of 14 is far too young to have sex. After the first time she had sex with her 18-year old boyfriend, she stayed celibate for three years.

The whole thing perplexed us a bit so we put the question to you, Dear Crushable readers. And as it turns out, you overwhelmingly agree that 14 IS too young to have sex. Of the 200 responses we got, over 80% of you said that 14-year olds shouldn’t be having sex.

Including one actual 14 year old, who tells us:

“I wouldn’t trust some of the people I know who are also 14 to be home alone, let alone are they mature enough to have sex. I personally think I’m pretty mature for my age, even more so than my older friends, but I know that I would not be ready for sex, as most other 14 year olds aren’t, even if they think they are.”

Who knew? This response is a lot different from the lessons we’ve been learning from Teen Mom, that’s for sure.
