It’s 99 degrees out and you’re sweating bullets. So why would you wear a scarf? Madewell is the go-to store to get scarves for all seasons, blahblahblah, and girls are wearing them in hot weather: Last Sunday, for instance, it was boiling on the city streets and we spotted a pack of chicas sporting gauzy, voluminous scarves triple-wrapped around their necks, accessorizing their short shorts, tanks and flip flops. Come on, IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. How is Madewell selling this shit? Ladies, we’re all for being a slave to fashion — but you don’t have to sweat.
Also, would pay pay $45 for a summer scarf?

Why wear a summer scarf – if it’s seriously hot and sunny a summer scarf protects delicate decolletage from frying, drying up and getting all damaged and burned. That way when you’re not wearing a scarf or in a tube top you don’t have a permanent tank-top line. I was in Bali last week and my skin could not have survived without a summer scarf.
