The paparazzi have been having a field day lately with all three Kardashian sisters in New York to open their newest Dash boutique and film more of their hit show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And though Kim was the only one of the trio who stepped out for lunch earlier this week, she did have someone very noteworthy with her: Ciara.
But really it was the reality TV star’s outfit, not her dining companion, that caught our eye. Her liquid leather-like leggings look great tucked in to her black peep-toe booties and we covet her quilted handbag. We also give her props for wearing all black–a true New Yorker in the making.
The standout piece in her ensemble, however, is definitely her sweater. The black turtleneck looks cozy and warm but has a major dose of style–namely the embellished sculpted shoulders. We really like the ’80s revival of the bold shoulder (especially on something a little less expected like a knit) because it can be really flattering. As Kim demonstrates, the illusion of broader shoulders makes your waist appear slimmer. To keep from looking bulky, just pair your shoulder-padded piece with a slim-fitting bottom, like skinny jeans or leggings.
