Last night was the second episode of The Event, which a lot of people are calling NBC’s attempt at “Lost meets 24,” two very popular shows that went off the air this year. And the show does seem to bite a lot from both those beloved cult programs style: there are tropical islands, a black president, and lots of plane crashes/fights with “others.” But as Damon Lindelof, Lost’s creator, pointed out last night on Twitter, “I think THE EVENT is swell, but if 24 and LOST really had a baby it would hate both its parents and regularly engage in torture.”

Despite rumors that Fox might not pick up another season of 24, the series may live on — on NBC. Sources tell Entertainment Weekly that the studio that produces 24, 20th Century Fox, has piqued the interest of NBC execs, and Kiefer and the gang may end up on that channel if Fox decides to pass. 20th is also reportedly working on a Jack Bauer film franchise, which probably won’t get off the ground as long as the show is… More »
Two Gilmore Girls alumni appeared last night in the return of the FOX hit 24. For its much anticipated Season 7 premiere, many new characters were added to the show.
