New Artists Added to Siren Fest, After Party

Some new bands have been added to the lineup for the Village Voice’s Siren Festival: A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS, THEE OH SEES, and TINY MASTERS OF TODAY (who have a new album out). JUSTINE D. and DEADHEAT DJs were added to DJ as well. Aside from all of the previously mentioned New Year’s Eve shows, some late night ones have been added.

Amanda Palmer & The Danger Ensemble will be playing a 2 a.m. show at the Bowery Ballroom (after Patti Smith). Tickets go on sale Friday at noon.

Mr. Brownstone (GNR cover band) will be playing at 2 a.m. at Mercury Lounge (after A Place to Bury Strangers). Tickets are on sale.

CMJ, the annual music conference in New York akin to SXSW in Austin, has announced its initial lineup, which includes some previously announced shows. You can usually buy tickets to individual shows, or get a badge and hope to get in. So many venues host (mostly) free shows in the summertime, it’s hard to keep up. There’s McCarren Pool, Central Park, and Prospect Park. But then there’s also Castle Clinton in Battery Park, the Winter Garden at the World Financial Center, and the South Street Seaport.
