Video: Tumblr’s David Karp Shills for Uniqlo
Before I get to this video, can I address something separate about Japanese clothing company Uniqlo? My own personal little complaint? So I’m a tiny joke of a human, a toy-sized person, really. I’m 5’3″ on a good day, and hover at a little more than a hundred pounds. Barely a speck in this vast, expansive universe of ours, am I. I’ve mostly learned to deal with this problem by wearing stilts and generally relying on my Napoleon complex to make my mark on this world (Napoliana complex! What?), but certain things make it so very hard to feel like an actual, real thing. One of those things is the sizing at Uniqlo, which is surprisingly large for a Japanese company. They offer the size extra-small, not always the case with clothing stores, but it’s a lie. Their clothes do not fit me, and putting on a dress labeled “XS” only to be dwarfed by it is utterly disheartening. Sigh.

Video: Weezer’s State Farm Jingle Is Bizarre But Awesome

Video: What’s The Difference Between PETA And A Porn Company? (Not A Riddle)
PETA has posted an exclusive video on Buzzfeed of their NSFW Super Bowl spot, which means the pro-animal rights group created an ad that they knew was never going to air. What’s the point of that? Just to show the world how “controversial” you are? Anyway, the spot is an “outtakes parody” (the way The Simpsons: XXX is a parody) of the group’s 2009 Superbowl ad, Veggie Love. Video: Watch Gerard Butler Take His L’Oreal Ad Very Seriously
So here’s the deal: Gerard Butler shot a L’Oreal ad and L’Oreal shot a behind-the-scenes video of Gerard. And it’s three minutes long! Interspersed with shots of Mr. Butler leaping from tall buildings and singing karaoke are interview clips where Gerard talks about what it’s like to play Mr. L’Oreal. The choice quote?
“He’s a man’s man”?
Video: Absolutely Insane Korean Commercial
Okay — we’ve seen a lot of crazy Asian commercials in our time, but this Korean ad takes the cake. Two fat men parade about with elaborate faces painted on their bellies before going nuts on a rollercoaster. And what’s this piece of advertising glory actually selling? Ladies, Put Down Your Pitchforks – That “Big Butt” Nike ad is a fake. Good, we wouldn’t have to take up another body-image issue in advertising this week. We can just go back to hating on Nike because of their sweatshops in 3rd world countries. (via TheFrisky)
Declare Yourself “Screaming” Ad Published
Earlier today I wrote about Declare Yourself taking Jessica Alba on board for their new campaign and the first ad in the campaign was released this afternoon. The ad shows Jessica Alba in as if she was on the production of a scary film with duct-tape covering her mouth and wrapped around her body.
