R.I.P. Leslie Nielsen, Our Weird Celebrity Crush
I am not turning on the morning news today, because I don’t want to see any chyrons proclaiming “Surely Serious: Leslie Nielson dies at 84.” (Shame on you, NPR.) It’s sad that this actor’s trademark line from Airplane! is perhaps the only thing our generation can recall of him off the top of our heads, besides maybe snippets of the Naked Gun movies, or if we’re really terrible, Scary Movie 3.
Although Leslie Nielsen’s straight-man delivery in absurd slapstick situations may be his legacy to the American public, there are more layers to this Canadian-born actor than Zucker comedies. Man Arrested for Trying to Dazzle Pilots with Laser – A Parisian man was taken into custody after he pointed a laser beam at plane touching down at the Paris Orly airport. The weirdest part? A spokeswoman for French Air claims there have been “a growing number of such incidents.” (via Reuters)
Angelina Jolie takes to the skies with a flying lesson
Brad Pitt wasn’t the only thrill seeker, riding around on his motorcycle in Hollywood yesterday (though he may have gotten more thrills than he expected when a crazy fan stuck a camera LITERALLY into his face!). Angelina Jolie was spotted taking a flying lesson in Burbank, California today!

I know there are a lot of people in a tizzy about Angelina flying around all over the place in her last trimester – but, she is, regardless of whether you like it or not. Me, I wouldn’t fly in one of those little planes unless Brad Pitt himself offered me a ride! LOL
