New Venue in NJ Announces Lineup

There is a new music venue called the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ. Well, it’s not exactly new as it’s been around since 1922, but it was a cinema for a while and it closed in 2006. It is now being run by Bowery Presents and it has announced its initial lineup. Tickets go on sale for everything tomorrow (Saturday).

JVC Jazz Festival

So many festivals this summer, so little time. If you’re into jazz though, this one’s for you. The JVC Jazz Festival will be in in NY June 15-28 at various venues. They have a wide variety of performers and somewhat loose interpretation of jazz–artists as diverse as Gil Scott-Heron, Maceo Parker, Jill Scott, Al Green, Soulive, Herbie Hancock, and Brad Mehldau will be performing.
