He is having surgery this week and the band has cancelled all future shows, including their headliging appearances at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 8 and All Points West this weekend in New York. Definitely one of the highlights, Greg Gillis aka Girl Talk played (DJed?) an insane set with dozens of people dancing on stage, balloons, confetti, toilet paper, and beach balls flying. Grizzly Bear were awesome, as usual. Ed Droste and co. were in fine form and they started out the chain of awesome performances for me. They are opening for Radiohead on the rest of their tour so definitely catch them if you can.

Friday, Day One of All Points West Festival in Liberty State Park, NJ, started off rainy but soon the weather improved. Even through the wind and rain though, Mates of State played and the crowd enjoyed them.
